While we have decided to postpone our wedding (again!), we wanted to share with everyone that we are married! We held a small civil ceremony, in New Hampshire, on our original wedding date with our families and closest friends present, both virtually and in person. While this was not at all what we had imagined, (and neither was the 100° F New Hampshire heat!), we are so excited to celebrate together, in Alaska, once it is safe to do so. Please check back for ongoing updates or feel free to reach out to us with any questions!
We met at a barbecue on Leadbetter Beach in Santa Barbara, CA during the first week of college. All we remember is that Megan got sunburned and Ben boldly sat down next to her on the bus ride back to campus. We became quick friends and eventually (after a lot of pursuing by Ben) we started dating in December of that year.
Ben decided to tag along on Megan's trip home to Alaska for the holidays. Unknown to Megan at the time, he had been planning to propose for months. The morning started off with brunch at our favorite breakfast spot in Anchorage: Snow City Cafe! While we were out at breakfast, Ben asked a few important people to wait out in the blistering cold at Potters Marsh to catch the moment on camera. We made our way out to the marsh and Megan immediately knew what was happening. We walked out on the boardwalk and he popped the question.
