Elizabeth's side: We met how every good millennial couple meets, through online dating. I was on a few sites and talked to a few people. I saw Shane's picture as someone who was "interested in me" and thought he wasn't bad so we connected. We chatted for a while, and then he ignored me for a WHOLE WEEK. When I connected with him again, we were able to talk, decided to go on a date, and wound up talking outside Crossgates until 2am after a movie. (He then went to work at 4:45am, which I didn't know). He was everything I didn't think that I wanted but has turned out to be everything that I have needed. Shane's Story: We met on a dating site, called Coffee Meets Bagel. I liked what I saw so I swiped right. We happened to match and had some conversation. We met up to watch a movie and spent more time in the parking lot than we did watching the movie. It felt comfortable and refreshing meeting her. The more that I got to spend time with her the more I wanted to spend more time with her. When she went away for a month to Bulgaria in December, I couldn't wait for her to get back to tell her that I loved her. I realized that I wanted our relationship to go further. She met my kids and they really got along well. It was then that I knew I wanted to marry her.
Shane: I like her smile. She's intelligent, funny, and great with my kids. I didn't ever think that I would get married again, but I found somebody who is completely amazing and impresses me with almost everything that she does. I love her for who she is on the inside, and she's as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside. Elizabeth: If you asked me two years ago if I would ever marry a guy who already had kids, I would tell you that you're crazy. However, God has shown to me that everything that I love about Shane is because of his history. He is loyal, stable, kind, and patient. He calms my ever-wandering adventurous spirit and supports my creative ambitions. He is genuine and generous. He is a great father. He is willing to rub my back for hours on end while watching tv and washes the dishes after I cook a meal. I love him for who God has made him, through every moment before and every moment to come.
