For Ohara, the moment she knew Gabriel was “the one” came on their first date. She recalls, “I thought, ‘Oh, this is the person I’m going to spend the rest of my life with.’” Gabriel’s patience, kindness, and gentle nature immediately made her feel at home, and he’s since made her laugh harder than anyone else ever could. Outside of the proposal, Ohara’s favorite memories with Gabriel are when they share laughs that never seem to end. “I could never get bored of his laugh,” she says. Their communication and mutual support are the foundation of a truly special relationship, and Ohara has always known he was the one. “I told him that I would’ve married him after a week if he asked me,” she says, laughing.

Gabriel knew Ohara was the one soon after they started dating. “I remember one night we were sitting in my car listening to music. I watched her sing and thought about how beautiful she is and how I could picture myself spending every night with her in my car listening to music,” he says. That simple, meaningful moment solidified what he already felt about her. His favorite memory with Ohara came on their first anniversary, a day filled with fun and spontaneity. “We played soccer with friends and then took a spur-of-the-moment trip to the Harry Potter Exhibit. It was such a fun day, and I’ll always cherish that memory.” Gabriel credits their strong and effective communication as one of the most special aspects of their relationship. “Ohara is the only person I feel like I can be 100% vulnerable with,” he says. Beyond their deep love, Gabriel knows Ohara is the perfect partner for him because of the way she balances him. “Sometimes my introverted personality can get in the way of making memories with friends or taking risks with school, but Ohara pushes me to do fun things I never would have tried. I think we’re perfect for each other because we balance each other out.”
