We are planning to host a house warming party sometime in August/September to welcome everyone to our new home in Jackson. Aside from this, we will not be hosting any sort of special wedding reception since we have already had one in Michigan last fall.
We are fairly casual people, but this is still a special day for us and there will be [LOTS of] photos taken throughout the night. With that being said, we'd like you to be comfortable but classy (not like you're going to Walmart at 2am on a Thursday). Our ideas of comfortable involve clean jeans/slacks, simple button down shirt or blouse, and practical yet coordinating shoes that haven't been worn by a dad while mowing the lawn for several years. ;-)
Many have said the reason our reception is in Duluth is to make things more convenient for Steven's family - we can say without a doubt that the location of our parties was based solely on what makes us happy. Emma enjoys being by the water, and the aquarium in Duluth just felt right during her first visit back in 2017, and there would always be something to keep guests entertained (especially the kids). The UP is where Steven went to college and we both enjoy getting away from the everyday hustle and bustle up there - we plan to move there one day.
We have decided not to hire a DJ, as neither one of us really likes to dance and we felt there was enough happening all around with the exhibits. We respect the animals and although DJ's and dancing are allowed we don't want to do anything that could potentially cause the animals discomfort.
