Travel Note
Tucson is located in Southern Arizona, about two hours outside of Phoenix. The easiest way to get there is to fly into Tucson International Airport, though flights are quite limited and tend to be more expensive. The most cost-effective way to get to Tucson is to fly into Phoenix Skyharbor and drive the two hours south. It's a lovely desert drive and there are lots of fun stops you can make along the way!
Travel Note
Whether you are flying into Tucson or driving from Phoenix, you will likely want to get a rental car. Tucson is quite spread out and our wedding venue is on the far east side of town. For those of you joining just for the wedding day, it is possible to get an Uber or Lyft between the Tucson airport, your hotel, and the wedding venue. We also encourage you to carpool with friends or family when possible! If you're looking for a rental car, we recommend looking at sites like Hotwire to find the best price. We also like to use Turo when we travel, which is like Airbnb for cars.
Travel Note
We are getting married at Saguaro Buttes, a beautiful 26-acre property on the east side of Tucson. The venue is about 30 minutes from downtown, so you'll want to plan your travel accordingly. You could stay in any part of town, but here are the three areas we'd recommend: 1. Downtown - The area near the U of A offers easy access to shops, restaurants, bars, and other sites. The Graduate and The Leo Kent are both excellent hotels, but there are plenty of Airbnbs in the area as well. 2. The East Side - The east side of town is the closest to our wedding venue. It's not a very walkable area, but there are plenty of local restaurants and convenience stores within a few minute drive. This area is also great for getting to hiking trails and Saguaro National Park! See below for information on our hotel block at Hilton Tucson East. 3. The Foothills - For the most scenic views of Tucson, we recommend an Airbnb or hotel in the Catalina Foothills. This tends to be the most expensive part of Tucson with many upscale restaurants and shops. The area is more secluded and quiet and it's the furthest from the wedding venue (about 40 minutes). Loews Ventana Canyon and Hacienda Del Sol are splurge-worthy hotel options.
