The Getty Villa
We visited in May 2024 and loved it! The Villa showcases ancient art and Roman-inspired architecture. Admission is free with a reserved ticket; parking is around $20. We recommend carpooling or using Lyft/Uber.
Malibu Wines & Beer Garden
For a more adult-friendly activity, the nearby Malibu Wines offers tastings in a beautiful outdoor setting. Guests can sample local wines and enjoy scenic views of rolling hills. Price is approximately $20/person. Relaxing tip: Many tastings come with picnic areas, perfect for a serene afternoon.
Zuma Beach
Just a short drive from Calamigos Ranch, Malibu offers iconic beaches with gorgeous ocean views. In November, the weather can still be pleasant enough for walks on the beach or relaxing picnics in the sand.

A charming local shopping experience just a 5–10 minute drive from Calamigos Ranch, The Commons at Calabasas offers boutique shops, restaurants, and a relaxed, village-like atmosphere—perfect for a leisurely afternoon stroll.
Topanga State Park
For those who want a touch of adventure, hiking trails with breathtaking views of the mountains and ocean await. Trails range from easy strolls to more challenging hikes. Fun tip: Sunset hikes provide incredible photo opportunities.

Los Angeles Zoo
LA Zoo Lights: Animals Aglow – Just a 30–35 minute drive from Calamigos Ranch, Nick and I visited this magical holiday event on November 22, 2025 to celebrate being one year away from the wedding! Running from November through January, the zoo transforms into a sparkling winter wonderland with illuminated animal displays, festive music, and seasonal treats. The experience starts at 6 PM with General Admission running from $19-$29.
