The Wedding Website of Angela Duplessie and John Occhibove
ATTENTION GUESTS: OUR DESTINATION WEDDING HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO COVID19. THE WEDDING OF ANGELA MARIE DUPLESSIE TO JOHN OCCHIBOVE WILL NOT TAKE PLACE ON MAY 2 2020 AS ORIGINALLY PLANNED, NOR ON MAY 15, 2021 AS WE HAD HOPED... OUR NEW and FINAL WEDDING DATE WILL BE NOV 20, 2021 Some common questions about our destination wedding are listed below... If you have any other questions, please see our Travel Page
Question

WHY IS THE WEDDING POSTPONED?

Answer

Due to the COVID19 pandemic, the borders have been closed. We want to put the health and safety of our loved ones first, so we have decided to postpone the wedding until 2021, when we can enjoy our trip without worries! INITIALLY WE HOPED WE COULD HAVE THE MAY 15TH 2021 DATE, BUT WE FEEL IT IS BETTER TO WAIT UNTIL FALL 2021 WHEN THE PANDEMIC IS IUNDER BETTER CONTROL.

Question

Now that things are postponed, Should I cancel my reservations?

Answer

We have set the new date for our vows, at the same venue. We hope that every one of our close friends and family will be able to attend our celebration on our new date! Please don’t cancel your resort reservations, because Royalton is honoring and transferring over all rooms for our guests with our new date. ( even if you did not purchase travel insurance) In order to have the reservations moved, don’t cancel them, and Tiffani, our travel planner will assist you in changing the reservations for the all-inclusive resort over, as well as the airport transfers, which are included. As far as plane tickets, please do contact your airline, and likely they will be able to offer you a refund or credit which you can use toward your new flights even if you did not purchase travel insurance.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

The RSVP and booking deadline is TBD We will update our website as soon as we have more information, for those of you who are changing plans to join us this time around, or vice versa. The sooner the better. Please take a look at our travel website, where you can contact our wedding travel planner, Tiffani Inserra...all rooms must be booked through her! For your convenience, we have arranged for our guests to be able to reserve the room with a small deposit, then pay over time. Go to the TRAVEL page, and click on VIEW...this will bring you directly to our travel website.

Question

What happens if I changed my mind with the new date? Can I still attend?

Answer

In short...very likely, yes. As soon as we get more information on the travel details, we will update our website. The MAY 2, 2020 DATE HAS BEEN POSTPONED... The new date is TBD IN FALL OF 2021. You will likely still be able to attend, but you will be subject to availability/prices. Contact our Travel Planner, Tiffani, and she will be able to give you the most accurate information, and possibly still schedule your trip!

Question

How long will I be in Punta Cana for the wedding?

Answer

Our accommodations have a minimum of 3 night stays, but you can stay longer if you would like! The room blocks are listed by length of stay in the travel section.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We are keeping it small for our celebration, so please check the names on your invitation! We invited all ages, including all of the children most important to us! We chose a family-friendly resort for that very reason.

Question

What is the airport code for our destination?

Answer

PUJ is the airport code to use when researching and booking your flights. Don’t forget to forward your flight information to Tiffani so that she can arrange travel between airport and resort. for access to the Airport website and additional information, please visit https://www.puntacanainternationalairport.com/

Question

Does the cost for the room include transfer from the airport to the Resort?

Answer

Yes! Once you reserve your room, please communicate with our wedding travel planner, Tiffani, to let her know the details of your flights. She will coordinate the transportation for all our guests!

Question

Will I need a Passport to travel to Punta Cana?

Answer

Yes! If you already have one, check the expiration date. If you need to get one, do it ASAP because sometimes they can take several weeks to process(or more)! To enter the Dominican Republic, a valid passport with two blank pages is required. At the customs and immigration desk, you’ll receive a 30-day tourist card instead of a visa. THE TOURIST CARD COST WILL BE BUILT INTO YOUR AIRLINE TICKET PRICE. By Dominican law, there’s also a US$20 departure tax, the cost of which is usually included in your airfare (verify with your carrier). Airport Special Security (CESAC) follows but is not limited to TSA guidelines.

Question

Do I have to pass through immigration once I arrive?

Answer

Yes, however, there are new and changing protocols to reduce contact between people so there is now an ELECTRONIC FORM FOR IMMIGRATION to fill out. access the Eticket here: https://eticket.migracion.gob.do/ It is recommended that you fill it out ahead of time... please visit https://viajerodigital.mitur.gob.do/en/home-en/ for detailed instructions.

Question

What is the currency in the Dominican Republic?

Answer

In the Dominican Republic, the Dominican peso (PDO) is used. As of 5-4-2021, its approximate equivalence is almost 2 cents. (1.00 Dominican Peso =0.018 US Dollars) 1 US Dollar = 56.9508 DOP, but it fluctuates slightly and has gone up in value since last year compared to US dollars. Generally speaking, a good way to think of it is: RD$100 = US $2 RD$500 = US $10 RD$1,000 = US$20 There is a currency exchange at the resort. (the staff does accept US dollars for tips, however)

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Please be kind and give us advance notice, so we can communicate with our wedding planner at the resort.

Question

What Language do Dominican's speak?

Answer

Spanish dialect (though much of the population that works in tourism knows English.)
