Dan and Joanna met at their martials arts gym when Joanna punch Dan in the face (which is how Dan tells the story). While true, Joanna likes to point out that Dan was not injured by said punch to the face and continued to train with Joanna post-face punch incident. Dan and Joanna began talk more at the gym about everything from dogs to their favorite sci-fi fandoms (Star Wars and Star Trek), and eventually began to talk about their shared Christian faith and involvement in their churches. Eventually, Dan invited Joanna to join his D&D campaign. Through the interactions at krav maga, D&D, and many a lengthy text message conversation, Joanna had a moment of awkward bravery and asked Dan to go to coffee! After that first coffee date, there were sparks of interest that led Dan and Joanna pursuing a committed, intentional relationship. They are incredibly thankful that God brought them together and are so excited to celebrate the next step of their relationship, marriage!
