Our first date started with the normal pleasantries of 'hello' and 'how are yah' when Katie removed her sunglasses and David stopped mid-sentence to say "Oh my god you're beautiful" then remained speechless for the next few minutes while Katie laughed and blushed. There's been lots of compliments and blushing ever since. We're an online-dating success story (FaceBook Dating) and are proud of it! Katie loved that David's dating profile contained mediocre out of focus photos and pictures of his cats, but fell for his well written About Me section. David asked Katie out to lunch in Castle Rock and both were blown away when three hours passed without either noticing.
David planned a mid-week getaway to the Broadmoor hotel under the guise of celebrating his own birthday - not something he'd normally splurge on with a five-star hotel. A few days of rest and relaxation culminated in David taking Katie back to the Summit, a restaurant they'd both loved, and proposing midway through a five-course meal. David worked with the manager and sommelier to make the evening private and special for he and Katie. David wrote his proposal down so Katie could reread and keep it forever. They spent the rest of the evening celebrating with Katie's friends, who had made the trip from Denver to surprise Katie after the proposal.
