Tyler and Nicole met in the summer of 2016 in the Washington, DC metro area. Nicole had her first out-of-state software engineering internship and Tyler was starting his first full-time job in the construction industry. They were introduced by a friend who went to school with Tyler and was Nicole’s summer internship roommate and coworker. Nicole and Tyler hit it off right away. They got so close throughout the summer and were very sad when Nicole had to pack up and head back to Boston for another two years at MIT. So sad, in fact, that Tyler decided to make a trip to Boston (his very first time) to visit about a month after Nicole had left. When he came to Boston, they decided to make their relationship “official”, despite the fact that neither of them knew what this long-distance relationship would really look like. For two years, they dated while Nicole was in Boston and Tyler in Washington, D.C., with frequent short flights, and fun things always planned on their visits together. Then, Nicole moved across the country to San Francisco and after a not-so-quick pit stop in Des Moines, Iowa, for work, Tyler moved to San Francisco, too! Nicole and Tyler do plan to move back to the East Coast eventually to be closer to their families, but they love living in San Francisco right now. They spend lots of time on hikes, bike rides, wineries, breweries, restaurants, Giants games and staring out their window watching the fog roll in over the Golden Gate Bridge. More recently, they’ve been taking advantage of California’s proximity to Hawaii. On their first trip to Hawaii in August 2021, Tyler proposed to Nicole on an unmarked hike that she found on AllTrails, with a beautiful rainbow hanging over the Napali Coast! We are so excited to get married and can’t wait for you to celebrate our wedding with us on June 10, 2023! See you soon!
