Love in a time of Covid…. Planning a wedding during a pandemic has made for an exceptionally unique experience, starting with our engagement. For anyone who knows us, we have been extremely careful during the pandemic, so planning a large engagement with all our family and friends together would have been extremely challenging. Rob opted for an intimate rooftop surprise for our engagement, with the help of his sister, at a hotel in downtown Nashville. Well, at least that was the initial plan!! A beautiful sunset rooftop surprise was in place when, weeks later, Rob called Kristin over to look at something on his computer. She happened to see a "suspicious" email in the background alluding to a surprise party. Rob tried to play it off as a party his sister was throwing that they were invited to, but the city was mostly on lock-down and stubborn Kristin could not be convinced to attend a pandemic party...Pivot to Plan B.... After Kristin refused to attend the "rooftop party," Rob switched plans to move the engagement to his dad's backyard in Brentwood. He had convinced Kristin that his dad was taking them out to dinner. The setup was in place... and then the skies opened. The rain finally subsided (thank God!), but when they arrived to his dad's house and Rob wanted to take a walk in the wet backyard, Kristin thought Rob might have lost his mind! Despite all the chaos, the rain stopped and the engagement went smoothly. Rob proposed on a hill in his dad's backyard, which ended up being the perfect setup. Little did Kristin know, her family had also driven and flown in to be there for the big day, along with one of her closest friends! It was the most special day we will forever remember... and also a great story to tell our grandkids one day!!
