It all started in Donner Hall at Carnegie Mellon during freshman year. Jess and Scot did not so much meet as spot each other, two strangers trying to survive communal bathrooms and 8 a.m. classes. Their friend groups overlapped just enough that they would end up at the same parties or pass each other on campus with a casual “hey.” Fast forward to the fall of senior year. Jess had just returned from a semester in London, and she and Scot reconnected at the First Day of Classes party. This time, they actually talked for quite a while, followed by bouts of texting and casual catchups at friends’ houses. If you ask Scot what happened next, he’ll say that Jess pursued him for the next six months. If you ask Jess, she executed a flawless Spring Break jealousy plan. Either way, it worked, and the two finally decided to go on their first official date. On March 28, 2018, Jess invited Scot over for dinner and made her famous Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo. It was creamy, cheesy, and according to Scot, life changing. Despite this recipe being the key to his heart, Jess has yet to make it again. After graduation, they took on long distance. Jess moved to New York for grad school, and Scot stayed in Pittsburgh for work. Two years, countless flights, and a lot of FaceTimes later, Scot finally caved and moved to New York. Now Jess and Scot are getting married and could not be more excited to celebrate with all of you.
