Things To Do

Here are some of our favorite parks in the Grand Rapids area! Share in our love for the outdoors and explore some of the places we fell in love with each other at. If you decide to explore please wear a mask and practice social distancing :)

Millennium Park

1415 Maynard Avenue Southwest, Walker, MI 49534
, (616) 791-2357

This is one of our favorite parks in the area, there are so many trails to explore to just get away for while :) This is where we first met!

Waterfront / Gilmore Park

522 Lakeside Drive Southeast, East Grand Rapids, MI 49506

Another one of our favorite parks! This one has a beautiful waterfront trail that leads into a wooded area covered with wildflowers, filled with wildlife, and has a decent length so you can visit time and time again and discover new things.

Caledonia Lakeside Park

370 North Lake Street Southeast, Caledonia, MI 49316
, (616) 632-7275

Our favorite park for a small stroll and just sitting by the ponds. Always a must to get ice cream in downtown Caledonia after too!

Ruehs Park

7602 68th Street Southeast, Caledonia, MI 49316
, (616) 632-7275

We had our engagement pictures taken here! It's got a little bit of everything, nice and small too.

Frederik Meijer Gardens

1000 East Beltline Avenue Northeast, Grand Rapids, MI 49525
, (616) 957-1580

We go to this 'park' every year so I can see the beautiful butterflies! We are so excited to share this tradition with Malcolm.

Fallasburg Park

1124 Fallasburg Park Drive Northeast, Lowell, MI 49331
, (616) 632-7275

This park is on our 'need to visit' list! We have good friends in Lowell and they have nothing but good things to say about this lovely park.

Riverside Park

2001 Monroe Avenue Northeast, Grand Rapids, MI 49505
, (616) 456-3696

We've taken quick strolls around this park while in downtown Grand Rapids. Also Corgis in the Park is held here and that is the CUTEST event around.

Blandford Nature Center

1715 Hillburn Avenue Northwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49504
, (616) 735-6240

This park always has so many cool community events going on! Also one of the nicest trails Ian and I have walked, very leisurely.

Belknap Park

30 Coldbrook Street Northeast, Grand Rapids, MI 49503
, (616) 456-3696

Grands Rapid's only music festival is held in this park. We haven't been able to attend the festival yet but it's on our must do list :)

Fish Ladder Park

606 Front Avenue Northwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49504
, (616) 456-3696

Fish Ladder dates are a must for Grand Rapids natives.

Lepard Nature Preserve

6030 76th Street Southeast, Caledonia, MI 49316

This park is so close to my family home and is perfect for a short little hike.

Huff Park

2399 Ball Avenue Northeast, Grand Rapids, MI 49505
, (616) 456-3696

You can see deer running around this park all the time!

Provin Trails

2900 4 Mile Road Northeast, Grand Rapids, MI 49525
, (616) 632-7275

46 miles of trails...Ian and I want to explore these so badly!

Ah-Nab-Awen Park

220 Front Avenue Northwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49504
, (616) 456-3696

Popular downtown GR park. A must walk through.

Creekside Park

1035 68th Street Southeast, Grand Rapids, MI 49508
, (616) 632-7275

We took Ian's parents on a walk here when they came to see our apartment. It's a nice little family park.

Canal Park

941 Monroe Avenue Northwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49503
, (616) 456-3696

Pretty sure we found this one touring Art Prize one year.

Burton Park

6805 Burton Street Southeast, Grand Rapids, MI 49546

Burton just has trails for you to walk. No kids playground or anything, which gives you a quiet environment.

Ken-O-Sha Park

1353 VAN AUKEN SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508
, (616) 288-7209

Funny story about this one - Ian's GPS had us driving in circles for a good half hour before we could find the entrance to this park!

Holland State Park

2215 Ottawa Beach Road, Holland, MI 49424
, (616) 399-9390

Our favorite beach to visit!

Rosy Mound Natural Area

13925 Lakeshore Avenue, Grand Haven, MI 49417
, (616) 738-4810

It's got a funny name, but it's a nice spot!

Stagecoach Park

Middleville, MI 49333
, (269) 795-3385

This park leads into a super long trail!
