He Says...

I'll keep it short

Well it all started with us meeting in the cafeteria. She played hard to get but my charm won her over. Time-passed, we had study groups, chatted on Skype... suffice it to say I was irresistible to her. God had my back and gave her clear signs to let her know what the future was going to hold. Fast forward to today, and she's about to become the missus.

She Says...

How we really met

It was late a September evening, I randomly walked into the cafeteria for dinner one day, which was a rarity because I lived off campus. There he was, tall, brown, and absolutely handsome. I had never seen him before, who could this possibly be. He wore a distinctive flat cap with a grey sweater vest. His smile was genuine and something was intriguing about him. However, I could not allow him to get a big head, so I entertained him with only friendly banter. After we parted ways, I was sure I would never see him again, after all this was my third year and first time seeing him on campus. Shortly after our encounter, I was looking for a study partner, and posted an inquiry on Facebook. Guess who decided to respond to my post? Chris! I was shocked because I did not know we were friends on Facebook (stalker!). We became friends and eventually acknowledged our attraction for one another. I wasn't ready to explore those feelings and created very hard barriers for Chris. Eventually, I realized my foolishness, and decided to trust God in the signs He gave me concerning Chris. Chris indicated that he was intentionally in dating for marriage and wanted this to be his last relationship. I shared the same feelings, and our journey together began. We have experienced our share of bliss, storms, rainbows, and paradise over the years. Through it all, Chris's unconditional love has never wavered. He became my confidant, best friend, and mirror. I can't picture doing life with anyone else!

The Proposal

He asked and I said...

On February 14th, I started my day off with my usual anti-valentine day text message to my friends. Chris was coming into town, and I decided to make us a nice brunch. Later that evening, he had dinner reservations set-up, but I was so exhausted. I kept going back and forth on whether to go or not. Eventually, I told him I would take a nap and then we would go. I ended up oversleeping past the reservation time, I did not wake up until 11 pm. When I woke up, I heard a lot of rustling and shuffling sounds coming from my living room. I wondered what Chris was up to, and asked him if he was okay. He did not answer and of course this curious cat had to investigate. I walked out into my living, candles were lit and music settled in the air. Chris approached me and began to dance with me. After a couple of minutes of slow dancing, he spun me around and got on one knee and pulled a ring from his pocket. I was in shock, and could not process what was going on. I think he was surprised at how surprised I was because he was also lost for words. He finally managed to do his speech and asked me to be his wife. I said yes of course! Later I went to the bathroom to process it all alone and realized I looked like who shot John! I knew that if he was willing to propose to me while I looked this bad, he was the real one. I'm hoping to make it up on the wedding day!
