Things To Do

We're so excited to share some of our favorite things to do around Sonoma County!
La Crema Estate at Saralee's Vineyard

La Crema Estate at Saralee's Vineyard

3575 Slusser Road, Windsor, CA 95492
, (707) 525-6200

Come back to visit the La Crema winery, located on the property of our venue! Nestled within the storied Saralee’s Vineyard in the heart of the Russian River Valley in a historic barn dating back to 1900, the new La Crema Estate is the premier destination for wine education and cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Hartford Family Winery

Hartford Family Winery

8075 Martinelli Road, Forestville, CA 95436
, (707) 887-8030

Visit Hartford Family Winery, the winery that buys and bottles the Lummer's grapes. They have a tasting room in the winery amongst vineyards and rolling hills. Open Daily 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (last appt 3:30 pm). An additional tasting room is located in downtown Healdsburg, a charming town with a lovely town green and upscale restaurants and shopping. Call for reservations.

Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center

Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center

2301 Hardies Lane, Santa Rosa, CA 95403
, (707) 579-4452

A museum dedicated to the works of Charles M. Schulz, creator of the Peanuts comic strip. Next-door is Snoopy's Home Ice, an ice rink founded by Charles Schulz.

Safari West

Safari West

3115 Porter Creek Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95404
, (707) 579-2551

Guests visiting Safari West discover a 400-acre wilderness begging to be explored. With over 900 animals representing 90 different species roaming across some of the largest enclosures in the country, there’s a lot to see and do. You can take a safari jeep through the animal enclosures or spend the night "glamping." Highly recommended!

Jack London State Park

Jack London State Park

2400 London Ranch Road, Glen Ellen, CA 95442

Once known as Jack London’s “Beauty Ranch”, the Park’s 1400 acres include The Londons’ Cottage, the House of Happy Walls Museum, the Wolf House ruins, the historic ranch buildings, and over 29 miles of trails. Open daily 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Muir Woods National Park

Muir Woods National Park

1 Muir Woods Rd, Mill Valley, CA 94941

Walk among giant redwood trees at Muir Woods National Monument, located about an hour from Windsor. The park has both moderate hiking trails and easy, pave walking paths that are accessible to small children. Open daily 8:00am-6:00pm, reservations are required (1-800-410-2419).

Bodega Bay

Bodega Bay

Bodega Bay, CA 94923

Visit the Sonoma County coast! Our favorite beach is South Salmon Creek- walk through the dunes to the water (note: due to temperatures, rip tides and not-so-friendly 🦈 wildlife this is not a beach to swim in). Bodega Head is a great place to hike and admire the ocean from the cliffs. If you are hungry, The Tides Wharf & Restaurant in Bodega Bay has, what Tim and Scott claim to be, the best clam chowder outside of Boston. You can eat in the restaurant or order to-go and sit outside where you are likely to see some seal lions. You may recognize the restaurant and the church in the town of Bodega, from the movie The Birds. Sebastopol

Sebastopol

Sebastopol, CA 95472

Stroll around the fun and funky town of Sebastopol- located about 20 minutes from Windsor and on the way to the coast. Try some REALLY good ice cream at Screamin Mimi's🍦(6902 Sebastopol Ave) and enjoy the ever-present spontaneous entertainment at the town square around the corner. Have a drink-or two- at Hopmunk🍻, a beergarden with a fire-pit patio & weekend live music offering creative pub grub (230 Petaluma Ave). Another recommendation is to walk the Barlow (6770 McKinley St), an outdoor market district featuring upscale local food, wine, beer, spirits and crafts made onsite by Sonoma County artisans.
