What dates should I book my flight for?

Plan on arriving to Nosara by Thursday, December 5th by the latest so that you do not miss out on planned activities! If you can only afford to stay the weekend, plan on flying back on Monday, December 9th. And those of you planning on making a vacation out of this trip, you will not be disappointed! Check out the “Things To Do When You're Not Partying With Us” section for ideas on what to do with your extra time!

How do I get to Costa Rica?

We recommend flying into Liberia airport in Costa Rica and then taking a shuttle to Nosara. The airport is called Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR). There are many ways to fly into Liberia from all major US cities as well as Canada. Listed below are some airlines’ the fly into LIR. Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Copa Airlines, Delta, Jetblue, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, WestJet. How do I get to Nosara from Liberia?

You will be taking a shuttle and the trip takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes. We will upload details soon but there are many shuttle services and they can accommodate larger groups!

What if I do not want to take a shuttle?

You have the option of flying into Liberia (LIR) or San Jose International Airport (SJO) and then take an inter-connecting flight straight to Nosara. However, please note that the planes are very small. We stress the word ‘small’ since we know most of you will fly right back where you came from when you see the single propeller plane. But if you’re one of the few brave souls, let us know and we will provide you with more information!

Where will I be staying?

Lots of hotels in Nosara available for booking on all the major travel websites. However, we recommend contacting Liana Johnson with Wanderlust Realty directly at liana@wanderlustrealty.com. Please write “Accommodation for Nubia and Banguu’s wedding” in the subject line. She will provide you with amazing options in all prices ranges, some cheaper than hotels if traveling in a group. Airbnb is also an option! If you prefer staying in a hotel and need help with recommendations, please send us an email! Also, if you do not wish to rent any mode of transportation, please notify who you’ll be staying with that you will need assistance with transportation to and from La Luna for Friday’s welcome beach party. Or simply request for or locate a hotel/villa within walking distant to La Luna. Don’t forget to ask your Airbnb host as well! We will provide transportation for Saturday and Sunday.

How will I be getting around in Nosara?

Renting a car is easy if booked in advance. When the time is near, we will provide you with a simple map of how to get around once we have an idea of where everyone is staying. ATV’s or golf carts that can accommodate 4 or more people are also an option if staying in the recommended zones close to the beach. There are companies that also offer cab services or drivers with private vehicles available on call as needed. Those staying on properties booked through Wanderlust Realty will also have some assistance with transportation. Transport to and from wedding festivities for both Saturday and Sunday will be provided by us.

How do I rent a car?

You will need your passport with valid immigration stamp, driver’s license, and a credit card. Make sure to keep a photocopy of your passport personal information page and a phone picture of the entry stamp showing when you entered the country along with your license when driving around. National Car Rental and Alamo are owned by the same company and are located right next to each other. Make sure to book at least two months in advance and to book directly on the Costa Rica website of the car rental companies listed below. They are both a 2-minute walk away from Café de Paris which is why the café address may be listed for their location. Use the direct links below to avoid accidentally selecting the wrong location (make sure it is Nosara/Nosara beach and NOT Samara). What about car insurance? (There are 3 ways of going about it).

1) The most expensive and comprehensive insurance package which includes everything and offers a peace of mind is the “National Protection Package” or “Alamo Protection Package.” 2) You may also separately select ‘Third Party Liability’ (TLP) and ‘Collision Damage Waiver-Theft Protection’ (CDW-TP) and get adequate coverage. You may get a better deal with this option o the Alamo site. 3) You also have the option of just paying for the ‘Third Party Liability’ (TLP) which is the mandatory and using the ‘Collision Damage Waiver-Theft Protection’ (CDW-TP) offered free through your major credit card. Please note that you may need to show proof of your coverage through a letter from your credit card company. Call the Benefits Administrator or the number on the back of your card and as for a proof-of-coverage letter stating which country the policy covers and what damage it covers. Get a hard copy and take it with you to the rental agency when picking up your car.

How will I be charged for the car rental?

You will have to have a credit card to reserve the car. An authorization of the amount of $500 plus the entire estimated cost of the rental will be taken at the time of rental. Please note that if you do not get ‘Collision Damage Waiver-Theft Protection’ (CDW-TP) through them, a much larger amount (up to even $2500) will be placed on hold plus the entire estimated cost of the rental. Please plan according if you’re planning on using your credit card for purchases. Debit/Check cards (with logos American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Diners Clubs, Discover) and cash are only accepted as a form of final payment. This transaction takes place when you return the car. Or you could choose to keep the charge on the credit card you used to make the reservation.
