FAQs

The Wedding Website of Alex Nowjack and Kat Gallagher
Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

To match the timeless and elegant feel we envision for our special day, we kindly ask our guests to wear formal black tie attire. Gentlemen: A classic black tuxedo or black suit and tie (yes a white shirt is okay). Ladies: A long black dress Be prepared to dress warmly as the weather in the Canadian Rockies can change dramatically. If you are going to wear a jacket or a shawl please make sure it is also black!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones—but due to our venue’s limited capacity, we’re unable to accommodate children at our wedding. We hope you can enjoy this special evening as a night out to relax, celebrate, and soak in all the love with us. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We are honored to celebrate this special day with our closest family and friends. Due to limited capacity, we kindly ask that only those guests listed on your invitation attend. If you receive a plus one, they will appear under your name when you RSVP.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We kindly ask that you RSVP by August 1, 2026. This will give us plenty of time to work with our wedding coordinators and share an accurate guest count with all of our vendors for the big day.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Absolutely! Please let Alex and Kat know of any food allergies in advance so we can try to accommodate you dietary needs.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Guests are required to find their own transportation to the ceremony, but we will provide a shuttle service home! The service picks guests up from the front doors of the reception room and drops off anywhere in Canmore. Running time is 9:30 pm to 12:30 am.

Question

Strict DUI entry laws/ Passport

Answer

Please be aware that Canada has strict entry requirements related to impaired driving offenses, which apply to both land and air travel. A single DUI offense that occurred before December 2018 may be considered eligible for entry if 10 years or more have passed. However, any DUI offense after December 2018, or multiple DUI offenses, may result in being denied entry to Canada. We sincerely apologize if this impacts any of our guests and recommend confirming your eligibility to travel with a Canadian immigration expert in advance to avoid any unexpected issues. Additionally, please make sure you also have a current passport that does not expire within a month of our wedding day!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Please reference our Travel Tab for hotels in the area.

Question

Do you have a room block?

Answer

No, we do not. Silvertip is a golf course, and therefore does not have any accommodations on site. However, as part of the wedding package they do offer a discount code for the Coast Hotel - please reference the travel and lodging page to find that code!

Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 3:00pm mountain time. Please arrive no later than 2:45pm to allow time to park, enter the venue, and find a seat. We encourage guests to walk around the grounds before the ceremony and take pictures! There will be bathrooms available before the ceremony if needed. No late entry into the ceremony will be permitted.

Question

Does the venue have parking?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of complimentary parking available at the venue! For guests who prefer not to drive, both Uber and Lyft operate in the area and can bring you directly to the venue with ease. To ensure everyone gets home safely, a shuttle service will begin at 10:30 PM and will be available to take guests back to any accommodation within the town of Canmore. If you’d prefer to leave your car at the venue after celebrating, you’re more than welcome to do so and return to pick it up the following morning.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly request that you enjoy this special moment presently with us and leave all cell phones and cameras off and in your purse or pocket during the ceremony. We have hired an awesome team of photographers and videographers to capture every detail of the wedding and we will of course share these photos with you! After the ceremony, we would love for you to capture our special day and we encourage you to snap away! We will have a QR code that will take you to a website for you to share your photos with us!

Question

Will there be dancing?

Answer

Oh yes — there will definitely be dancing! After 9:30 PM, things might get a little more “late-night playlist” with some unfiltered lyrics and songs that aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. If that’s your cue to call it a night, we’ll send you off with hugs and zero judgment!
