Daniel and I met in high school when I was 15 and he was 16. I guess if this were the story of typical high school sweethearts, you may think the next sentence might say, "And the rest is history," but our story is not quite so simple... Our "relationship" was on and off again in high school as we were mainly friends who liked each other while I was not yet allowed to date. Then, years were spent apart during college without hardly ever seeing one another. As college was ending for each of us, we reconnected and dated on and off ONCE AGAIN. Now, who ended it every single time? I did... And yet, who continued to pursue for a majority of the 8 years we knew each other? Daniel. He continued to love me until the Lord changed my heart to love him in the same way in return. He always said it wasn't something that came from him, but he knew it came from the Lord. His pursuit and his love has been such a beautiful picture of Christ's pursuit and love for me. I pray that our story gives a little glimpse into the way Christ pursues and loves you because He sure isn't letting go. I am now so excited to love Daniel for the rest of my days and have full confidence in this love because I know it comes from the Lord Himself, just like Daniel always said when I never really understood. It has now been about 8 years since I met Daniel in class, we spent a total of 1 and a half years doing long distance dating while I was in Uganda, and we can honestly tell you we have no idea how long we have dated in total. - Cat
I met Cat my first day of Junior year in room 214 on August 11th, 2014. I knew how beautiful and special she was as soon as she walked in the door of our Spanish class and was already plotting ways to get to talk to her. We became close friends in the following months and dated in high school. We reconnected after college and picked up right where we left off. I always knew Cat would be the woman I'd marry. Her generous heart, loving spirit, and infectiously fun personality makes it so easy to love her. After nearly a year and a half of long distance, I eagerly made the trip to Uganda to propose to my best friend. I can't wait to experience what the Lord has in store for our marriage and spend the rest of my days with the love of my life. - Daniel
Our story has been a rocky one, but we wouldn't change it for the world. After 8 years, we are excited to finally be able to say, "The rest is history!" Thank you for being a part of our story and for coming alongside us to celebrate our upcoming marriage! We are so thankful for each and every one of you and the role you have played in our lives as a couple and as individuals. - Cat and Daniel
