Things To Do

Here are a few recommendations of things to do near the wedding venue and in Houston. We hope you enjoy your stay here!

Montgomery, TX

The wedding venue is located in the small town (population 2,000) of Montgomery, TX. Here you can find boutiques, gift shops, and antique shops, and if you’re thirsty, there are coffee shops, wine bars, and wineries. They also have BBQ, Pizza, a Steakhouse, Burgers, and more. 12 miles west of Montgomery on hwy. 105 in Plantersville is the Bernhardt Winery which is part of the Blue Bonnet Wine Trail www.Texasbluebonnetwinetrail.com and the

Conroe, TX

Just 16 miles to the east of Montgomery via hwy 105 is Conroe, TX (pop. 100,000). The town is set on the 22,000-acre Lake Conroe with opportunities for renting jet skis, paddle boards, and fishing poles. There is a lot to do in Conroe: three craft breweries, a winery, a distillery, plenty of shopping, theaters, and live music all through the venues downtown. The Margaritaville Resort, where some of you may have opted to stay, has a golf course, a full-service spa, and a 3-acre lakefront water park as well as several restaurants and drinking options. www.margaritavilleresortlakeconroecom For those of you who like to hike, less than 30 minutes from downtown Conroe is the Lone Star Hiking Trail in the Sam Houston National Forest. It is the longest continuous hiking trail jn Texas and is dubbed “The Jewel of Texas”. For more info: www.trailguideatlonestartrail.com

Houston, TX

What can we say? Houston is the 4th largest city in the country and offers something for everyone. Houston has FANTASTIC restaurants , great breweries (it is TX after all), theaters, museums, parks, and sports teams galore! If you would like recommendations for food/drink, we are happy to share some of our favorites! Space Center Houston is located south of Houston and is connected to NASA. We highly recommend this museum and taking one of the tram tours! We love the Saint Arnold's brewery downtown (this is where we first met). Hermann Park is home to an outdoor amphitheater, the Houston Zoo, gardens, and more. Just down the street is the Museum of Natural Science, another favorite of ours, which is a nice escape if the weather takes a turn. For art lovers, the Menil collection and Rothko Chapel in the Montrose neighborhood of Houston are recommended. Stop at a nearby coffee shop (there are tons in Montrose) to get caffeinated as needed.
