We’re doing this!

"Are we doing this?" When Kevin uttered these fateful words to Sam on the dance floor of a bar in Saugatuck, Michigan, little did they know that this would be the first time this phrase would mark a key milestone in their journey together. We're Doing This #1: Sam and Kevin started off as friends while attending business school at Northwestern Kellogg, getting to know each other while performing together in Special K, Kellogg's comedy musical show (think SNL meets Broadway). They waited until the 11th hour to move beyond friendship, starting to date during graduation week in June 2019. Despite moving to separate cities after school, they realized they had something special and decided "we're doing this" - "this" being a long distance relationship. We're Doing This #2: In March 2020 once it became clear that the pandemic was going to last longer than two weeks, they realized the only way they could see each other was to dive into the deep end and move into full lockdown together. So they decided "we're doing this", spending 24/7 together and figuring out how to fit two work-from-home schedules into a one-bedroom apartment. We're Doing This #3: In August 2021 after a date night together, they went home together for an extra special dessert. Sam saw Kevin had bought a cake with "Are We Doing This?" on it and thought, "What are we doing this time?" When she turned around and saw Kevin on one knee, she realized they had saved the best for last. So yes, We Are Doing This - Forever!
