If you have any questions other than what we've listed here, please reach out to the bride's mother, Cathy, at 240-350-1223.
Question

How do I RSVP? When should I RSVP by?

Answer

To RSVP, click the RSVP tab and type the name(s) listed on your envelope. Kindly RSVP before Friday, April 5, 2024. If you are unable to attend or your RSVP changes, we would appreciate you letting us know at the soonest opportunity. Any RSVP's not received by April 5, 2024 will automatically be marked as "no", as we will be sending final headcounts to vendors shortly after this deadline -- you will be missed!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We would like our photos to be timeless and for our guests to dress to the nines with us! The dress code is black tie. This dress code also applies to the select children attending. Evening wear is most appropriate here. For men, this typically means a dark suit or tuxedo, a white dress shirt, a coordinating bow tie or neck tie, a cummerbund or vest (optional), and suspenders (optional), dark dress shoes, like oxfords, are suitable. A suit or dinner jacket is required. Women can wear either a long gown or a formal cocktail dress. Heels are preferable but the turf is new, so be conscious of this. This should go without saying, but no jeans or khakis, no sneakers, and ladies, please no white! If you are still unsure of what to wear, visit the gallery page for example photos, or click the following links: https://www.marthastewart.com/7912329/what-it-really-means-to-plan-black-tie-wedding https://emilypost.com/advice/black-tie-dress-code https://www.southernliving.com/weddings/wedding-guest-etiquette-dress-codes Also, prepare for weather of about 68-75 degrees during the day and a potential low of 55 degrees after sunset which is at 7:29 pm.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Although we love your children, we regretfully cannot accommodate everyone's children at our wedding due to restricted numbers and space. This pertains to children of all ages including infants, toddlers, kids, and teens. Please refer to the "RSVP" tab to see if we are able to accommodate your children. If we are unable to invite your children, we hope that you will see this as an opportunity to let your hair down and enjoy the evening with us!

Question

May I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited venue capacity, we are unable to accommodate plus ones unless it is specifically indicated on your envelope. When you go to RSVP you will be able to see the exact number of people you can RSVP for.

Question

How does seating work?

Answer

Other than a few reserved seats in the front rows for immediate family members, the ceremony will be open seating. We encourage you to pick a seat, not a side; we’ll all be family once the knot is tied. For the reception, we will be carefully arranging the seating so our guests are sat with those they know (or their plus one or partner).

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The wedding ceremony and reception will be outdoors, and the mocktail hour will be held indoors.

Question

What do I do if I'm late for the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will start promptly at 5:00 pm, we recommend guests arrive between 4:30-4:45 pm so there is time to mingle and find a seat. If you happen to be late, our coordinator will let you know if they are allowing guests in or if you need to wait until the ceremony is over. If that happens, you will still be able to attend the mocktail hour and reception so hang tight, and we will see you at the reception! Thank you for understanding!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

We fully understand the woes of food allergies and will try to be as accommodating as possible. If you have a specific allergy, please let us know as soon as possible so we can work with the caterer to provide options. Due to the bride's allergies, the wedding will be shellfish and gluten free.

Question

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

There is ample free street parking near the venue on Greene Street, SE, Lincoln Street, SE, and on Williams Avenue, SE. There is also a parking lot about a block from the venue located at 301-399 Eustis Avenue, SE.

Question

Smoking Policy

Answer

Our venue is the Historic Weeden House and Gardens located in Huntsville, AL. This venue prohibits smoking anywhere on the premises, including outdoors on the property.

Question

What drinks will be served at the wedding?

Answer

Due to the personal and religious beliefs of our families, we have opted to have a dry wedding with a mocktail hour. We will, however, still be indulging in a champagne toast at the reception. When you RSVP, please select whether you would like champagne or sparkling cider for the toast.

Question

What type of food will be served?

Answer

We have worked diligently with our caterer to curate a custom menu that will appease most palates. We'll be serving passed hors d'oeuvres during mocktail hour, followed by a formal plated dinner.

Question

I heard you're using WeddingMix; what do I need to do?

Answer

We are excited to utilize WeddingMix! They have an app available for Apple and Android devices. Once you've downladed the app, on the first screen click "I'm a Guest"; then on the next screen enter the code "M3TED". All videos must be filmed horizontally (in landscape). Photos can be shot in either direction. We will have access to all of these captured moments for 1 year following the wedding and will work with WeddingMix after the wedding to create a custom wedding video.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony to post on social media?

Answer

We want to soak in this moment and live in it as we take our first steps into our forever, and after the wedding, we would like to be the first to share photos of the day with our friends and family that couldn't attend. For this reason, we have opted for an unplugged ceremony. However, we also realize that in this modern age going unplugged is difficult. We will take 30 seconds at the beginning of the wedding ceremony after the bride has made it to the groom, where guests will be welcome to take as many photos as they would like. Once the 30 seconds have passed, we kindly ask that you turn your phones off and soak in the moment with us. We also request that you wait a minimum of seven days to post anything to social media. In addition, we have elected to use WeddingMix, you can download the app on Android and iOS, our wedding code is: "M3TED". This will allow any photos and/or videos you record (horizontally) to be used in our wedding video, or printed. We are excited to see what you capture. It means the world to us to share this time with you.

Question

If I take photos at the mocktail hour or reception, can I post them to social media?

Answer

We would like the opportunity to be the first to share photos of our special day; please wait seven days to post any photos or videos taken at the wedding to social media. When you do share them, please use the hashtag: #Norton2024toForever or share them via WeddingMix If you would like to share photos that you took with the bride and/or groom, that would make our day! Please feel free to text them to us or email them to nortonwedding24@gmail.com. Anything shared via WeddingMix will automatically be available to us.

Question

Is there a wedding hashtag?

Answer

Absolutely! #Norton2024toForever Again, we request that you wait to post any photos for seven days or send your photos and videos to us directly at nortonwedding24@gmail.com

Question

When will the reception end?

Answer

Due to the guidelines for the venue, all guests must exit by 10 pm. At 9:45 pm we will ask guests to begin lining up near the side exit gate so the bride and groom can make their grand exit and have the bouquet toss. It means the world to us that you celebrated with us!

Question

Have you booked hotel room blocks for guests?

Answer

No. We feel there are so many options available such as Air BnB, VRBO, as well as traditional hotels in the area, and that all of our guest's needs are so unique that we would like everyone to have the opportunity to select the accommodations that best suit their individual needs. We truly appreciate you coming to Huntsville to celebrate the start of our forever with us.
