Things To Do

San Diego has a variety of activities and is a great place for a wide variety of ages.

Driving/Taxi Attractions

If you are renting a car or driving to San Diego here are some of the Bride and Groom's favorite attractions within driving distance of the hotel.

Walking Destinations

If you don't want to rent a car, there are many things you can do without driving in San Diego. The hotel is conveniently located within a short uber drive to and from the airport and walk able to some of the Bride and Groom's favorite San Diego attractions.

San Diego Zoo

2920 Zoo Dr, San Diego, CA 92101

World famous and relatively close to downtown, San Diego Zoo is full of a variety of animals and nature. If you rented a car another attraction is the Safari Park, its a little drive, but they have done an amazing job making you feel like you are really on a safari. The zoo is amazing if you have never seen it, but if you have the time the Safari park is a bride and groom favorite.

Walk-on Ferry to Coronado Island

Coronado, CA 92118

From the hotel a quick walk down the waterfront to Broadway Pier you will find the water taxi to Coronado Island. Once on the island, you can rent a bike and explore. Its miles-long shoreline, clean sands, peaceful atmosphere, and idyllic location make this a great beach to visit. It also has many restaurants and shops.

La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaks

2164 Avenida De La Playa, San Diego, CA 92037
, (858) 454-0111

If you have extra time, Lajolla Sea Kayaking to the Seal Cove is a lot of fun!

USS Midway Museum

910 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101
, (619) 544-9600

Torrey Pines State Reserve

12600 North Torrey Pines Road, La Jolla, CA 92037
, (858) 755-2063

Want to see what San Diego looked like at its founding? This oceanfront reserve features 1,750 acres of unspoiled land, protecting the unique topography and various types of flora present from way back when, including the Torrey Pine, America's rarest pine tree.

Little Italy Mercato Farmers' Market

600 West Date Street, San Diego, CA 92101
, (619) 233-3901

The day of the wedding is one of San Diego's biggest farmer's markets. Around five city blocks long you can explore some of the best of Little Italy and a few blocks from the Hilton Garden Inn. Fresh flowers, produce, and many up-and-coming companies selling delicious food. I would recommend getting there on the earlier side around 8/9 am, it can get crowded.

Temecula

Temecula, CA

Escape into the countryside of San Diego with an hour drive into wine country. Temecula is a great option if you have a little extra time and are wanting to see a different side of San Diego. There are many great wineries and some fun bars and restaurants in downtown Temecula.

Seaport Village

San Diego, CA 92101

If you want to spend the afternoon watching ships float in and out of the harbor while sipping coffee or shopping for souvenirs, Seaport Village is the place to visit.

Beach Day

San Diego is a city of surf and sun, we highly recommend taking some time to explore a beach. Mentioned above is the Coronado, but there are a few other beaches to look at depending on what you would like. The brides personal favorite beach is Ocean Beach. It is not the most crowded beach and you can spot tons of parrots. It also has a wonderful farmers market on Wednesday's. Mission Beach is great as they have a beach side amusement park (Belmont Park) with putt putt, escape rooms, and a roller coaster. Traffic in and out of this beach can be difficult as there is only one way in and one way out. Mission Bay Park/Beaches, we would recommend Crowne Point neighborhood. This beach can often be less crowded and more protected from ocean waves and winds. Great for smaller children, there are not many food areas near so pack a bag of snacks.
