It was a typical Saturday in San Diego. Kyle woke up in the late morning and wanted to stay home to watch football. Across town, Sam woke up wanting to stay home and watch Disney and Rom Coms. However, Ike and Dan (dressed up like Waldo's dog) convinced Kyle to join them for a going-away party at American Junkie. Sam was similarly convinced to attend the same party with Jacqui and Sarah. Sam and her friends were hanging out at the bar socializing with some of the party guests when Dan, Ike, and Kyle walked into the bar. Sam said hi to Dan, not knowing Kyle at the time, and Dan "woofed." Kyle swooped in to explain why Dan (Waldo's dog) would only be woofing for the entire evening (Dan ended up winning the bet by the way). As Kyle and Sam locked eyes, Kyle knew she was the one, the music slowed as every second seemed to stretch into hours, very white seagulls (dove like) flew down 5th Ave, and legend has it, Kyle's heart grew three times that day. As the evening came to a close Sam needed to head home due to an early morning work schedule and Kyle, the white knight, offered to walk her home. As they traveled through the best parts of Downtown, East Village...just kidding, they sang Disney songs until they were interrupted by a great temptation -- Aldeberto's Carne Asada Fries and Pina Fresca. They completed their journey to Sam's house, where they said their final farewell for the evening. When Kyle arrived home safely, he realized he made a classic blunder, neglecting to get Sam's number. Two Weeks Later... During this time Kyle frantically asked his friends for assistance in acquiring Sam's number, but to no avail (thanks again guys!). Soon, came another chance for a meet-cute. Dan, no longer a dog, hosted one of the infamous Fancy Roommate Dinners: Perfect Wine Pairings at his house. Kyle, using his invitation power, specifically, asked for Sam to be added to the exclusive guest list. Sam was hesitant to go because she was nervous about seeing Kyle, the boy who never called. At the start of the party, Kyle was in the kitchen assisting with appetizer prep, when Sam walked in and said the one word which made Kyle's heart leap like a leprechaun over a rainbow... "Hi." All the guests arrived and the party commenced. As the night came to an end, Kyle and Sam, while having many conversations, had yet to exchange numbers. Before Sam left the party she quickly walked up to Kyle and handed him her phone and asked for his number. The rest is history: the night was a perfect pairing of food and wine, music and friends, and most importantly Sam and Kyle.
