Jack will tell you he remembers me from my interview. I, unfortunately, cannot say the same. He forgot his laptop at home the day of my interview, so he was late getting to the office. He was also stuck behind an Uber driver going to the exact same place. He remembers me getting out of the Uber, and he says he’s “never believed in love at first sight… until he saw me apparently". I, of course, was offered a position at the company. Call it fate or whatever you’d like, but there was something about that company, about that location, that made me choose it out of all the offers I had. Jack and I were friendly in the office, and looking back, he definitely made a point to include me in projects, conversations, and outings, but I didn’t really notice until Orlando. We were in Orlando for a work conference, and all the “adulty adults” hung out together, leaving Jack and me lots of time to hang out, talk, and learn about each other. It was the first time I really got to know Jack, and the first time I remember seeing him, like really, truly seeing him. After Orlando, we went on hikes, hung out more, and eventually Jack asked if I would go on a date with him. I replied with “Suuure,” and I will never live it down. But when he asked me to marry him, I no hesitation I replied "I'd love to" but nothing came out because I was choked up with excitement and love.
