Hotel

Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Birmingham

250 18th Street South, Birmingham, AL 35233

This is a great option if you want to be in downtown Birmingham with walkable activities. You will be near Railroad Park, a great greenspace, as well as the Rotary Trail, which is an urban walking trail. There are many food options around as well including The Red Cat Coffeehouse (Nora used to work here!), Current Charcoal Grill, Good People Brewery, and more. Note that this hotel option is more central to downtown. If you are looking for something a bit quieter, maybe go with another one of our suggestions.

Hotel

Valley Hotel Homewood Birmingham, Curio Collection by Hilton

2727 18th Street South, Homewood, AL 35209

This is a quieter option for those who might be traveling with kids, or want to be away from the bustle of downtown. Homewood is a suburb just outside of Birmingham, with a plethora of things to do. Valley Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Homewood and is extremely walkable. Dawn Patrol is a great coffee and breakfast spot alongside Big Bad Breakfast. There is also Social Taco, Soho Social, Oak Hill Bar and Grill, and Johnny's Restaurant for good food. Homewood Central Park is nearby as well and has a wonderful playground and field area.

Hotel

Hampton Inn Birmingham/Trussville

1940 Edwards Lake Road, Trussville, AL 35235

This is a great option if you want to stay close to where the rehearsal dinner and wedding ceremony/reception takes place. This area is not as walkable, so keep that in mind. The hotel is near Trussville, a suburb about 30 minutes from downtown Birmingham. Historic Downtown Trussville has lots of small shops and great food. There is Cosby Park not to far from the downtown area which is a beautiful outdoor space. Ferus is a great brewery with great food, and Umami has good Asian food. There is also Bendy's Ice Cream if you are looking for a sweet treat.

Airbnb Area Suggestions

If you are looking to rent an Airbnb in downtown Birmingham, there are some great options in Glen Iris neighborhood (Where Stephen and Nora live), or Highland Park. Crestwood or Crestline Village are areas to look if you want something a bit more residential, but still close to downtown activities. Feel free to reach out to either Nora or Stephen with any questions!
