In the isolating times of 2020, we found each other through a dating app. Our first date was at a local coffee shop in downtown Boise, Idaho. Jessica's dog, Carmine, came along as a third wheel and guest judge. He immediately approved. When the coffee cups were empty, neither of us were ready to end the date, so we found a nearby brewery. A beer, lunch, and some laughs later, we decided to finish our date with a walk around town. All in all, our first date lasted over 5 hours, and needless to say, we were off to a great start. Our first year together in Boise was amazing, however our commitment and relationship was about to encounter it's first true test. Daniel was offered a new job that he had fought hard for but would take him back to Texas. Jessica had lived in Boise all her life where her closest friends and most valued experiences were. After much discussion and some convincing, we took a leap of faith and decided to move to Austin, Texas together, pets in tow. On the four-year anniversary of our first date, Daniel organized a wonderful trip for us to celebrate on Catalina Island. We hiked to the top of a mountain that overlooked the ocean on each side of the island. Upon reaching the top, Daniel got down on one knee and asked Jessica to marry him, to which she replied with mostly tears...."YES!". After one year in Idaho, and almost four years in Texas, we are now heading back to Boise, Idaho where our love story began. While we'll be sad to go, we are quite excited for the journey and adventures ahead. Our life together has mostly grown in Texas, so that is where our wedding celebration will be, and we can't wait to see you all there!
