Love is patient, Love is kind

Noelle & Reuven met when they were both 16 years old in an Honors English class in their sophomore year of high school. Reuven and his family had just moved to California from Minnesota that summer. Noelle had noticed Reuven, the cute new boy, in the semester prior and told her friends about him, but they never actually talked. The two had class together again the next semester, and thankfully so did one of Noelle’s best friends, Sydney. Sydney became her wing woman and helped initiate the conversations between the two because Noelle was too nervous to. Around this time, Noelle & Reuven’s friend groups started hanging around each other more and more. Reuven’s twin sister Rebekah knew Noelle’s other best friend Madie, and eventually their two friend groups merged. They spent their sophomore year secretly crushing on one another, and that summer, Noelle & Reuven met for “study dates” at Starbucks every week to do a History summer assignment. These dates eventually became less about the assignment and more about getting to know one another, and that’s when sparks really flew! Fast forward to December 2017, their junior year of high school, Reuven and Rebekah handed out homemade Christmas cookies and cards to all of their friends. Reuven planned to give Noelle a special card with a note inside it titled “Read Later”. Unfortunately, she was at an orthodontist appointment and missed lunch that day, so Reuven gave her cookies and special card to her other best friend, Simone, to give to her later. This card was Reuven confessing his feelings for her and asking her out on their first date! Noelle was ecstatic and in disbelief, and it took her a whole day to respond which probably made Reuven nervous. (Shoutout to the high school gang for making their relationship possible!) Reuven’s family moved back to Minnesota while Reuven stayed behind in California to pursue his gymnastics career and their relationship. They spent the rest of their junior and senior years in high school as a happy couple. They even attended both proms together and shared their first kiss at junior prom. It was perfect until they decided to commit to different colleges, and it came time to go separate ways. Noelle attended UC Davis in northern California and Reuven attended the University of Iowa, they entered into a long distance relationship in 2019 and spent the next 6 years 2000 miles apart. This was very shaping for their relationship, making their bond stronger and allowing them to grow in their own ways. They are very thankful for the support from their family and friends they received along the way, as long distance was one of the most challenging things they’ve endured together. On a visit to Philadelphia for her birthday and New Years, Reuven proposed to Noelle on December 31, 2023 at the top of the Rocky steps with her family present. This past summer, they finally ended their long distance journey when Noelle made the move to Minnesota in August 2025. To God Be The Glory <3
