Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our wedding will be a celebration, and we’d love for you to dress in a way that makes you feel your best! Dress to impress, but most importantly, dress in what makes you feel your best!

Are kids welcome?

Answer

The American Wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We love your little ones, and want the parents to enjoy the night off by celebrating with us!

Question

What is the "American Wedding" and what is the "Ethiopian Wedding"?

Answer

Great question! We are having two weddings! Yes, they are a few months apart, and we would love for you to participate in one or both. The American Wedding will be hosted at the Royal Sonesta and the invitations you received are catered towards the American Wedding. The American Wedding will be a formal attire, adults-only celebration in Washington, DC on September 5, 2026 and the RSVP deadline is August 1, 2026. The Ethiopian Wedding will be a more traditional Ethiopian Orthodox Wedding Ceremony hosted in The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church of Our Savior in the Bronx, NY on July 18, 2026. While the Ethiopian Wedding will be more catered to family and extended family, you are more than welcome to join in this celebration. This wedding will be held in a church, please dress appropriately! Kids are more than welcome to come to the Ethiopian Wedding.
