There's some popular show where a lucky person out of a group of people gets a rose because they've made a great first impression. That's not us! Admittedly after not making great first impressions on each other, Noelle and I can now say we are a perfect match. We met in Birmingham Alabama through a mutual community of friends. While living in the same city for 3 years we never took the time to really get to know each other, outside of first impressions, until Noelle had decided to move away. They say God has a plan and for us its true. In a place that long term relationships died birth was given to a new one. Noelle and I stayed in touch and a few short months later we were back living in the same city only this time we were in a great relationship with each other. The Bible says, "when that which is perfect has come, that which is old will be done away." While we are far from perfect, there are no others out there who are more perfect for us than each other. When I first asked Noelle if she was busy for the next 50-60 years of her life it was mostly a joke. It didn't take long however before we realized that not only did we want to spend the next 50-60 years together, but also we wanted every single day for the rest of our lives to be spent with each other. We are beyond excited to have the opportunity to share our day with some of our closest friends and family and can't wait to see you there!
Chris and I had both moved down to Birmingham, ironically, for different significant others. I think we're proof that some things are just meant to be! Needless to say, both of those relationships did not work out, but we had both been a part of the tight knit volleyball community in the area. We had several mutual friends and would see each other at outdoor tournaments in passing, but we never had a real conversation to get to know each other...until the weekend before I was leaving to move back to Charlotte! I had played in my last sand tournament in Birmingham that weekend, and while I was about to pack up, Chris had swung by the courts with a friend and we somehow struck up a conversation (I think my pickup line was, "hey, you drinking some aminos?!"--side story: he was drinking a foamy drink out of a Gatorade bottle and I really did think he was drinking BCAAs. But if you know Chris, you know what kind of drinks he puts in his Gatorade bottles and it was definitely not aminos!!). Anyway, we had a good conversation and then I thought, "wow, too bad I'm leaving or I'd really like to get to know this guy better!" Well, several texts, calls, and FaceTimes later, we realized we wanted to give a relationship a shot so Chris made the move to Charlotte and the rest is history!
