Visit Minnesota's iconic music venue: First Avenue. Find tickets to a concert or visit the wall of 531 stars, including Prince's (of course), along the exterior of the building commemorating past venue performers. Fun Fact: Steph has spent countless hours waiting in line to claim a spot front and center stage. She's caught many guitar picks, set lists and met artists Phantogram, Local Natives and Capital Cities at this venue. Steph’s still teaching Noah her groupie ways. Let’s just say, he has a lot of patience.
Bring a bag back home of Minnesota's finest development: Honey Crisp Apples. Every fall Noah and Steph visit their favorite orchard to ride the tractor, pick apples, visit the animals, drink warm apple cider and eat all things apple (donuts, turnovers, brats - you name it!).
Craving some pho-nomenal Vietnamese food? Grab something warm at the couple's go-to restaurant for comfort food and order number 504. Pho Tai Bo Vien with a side of egg rolls. You won't be disappointed. Fun Fact: Hometown celebrity, Andrew Zimmern's, favorite menu item is the steamed bao buns.
The Twin Cities offers many coffee shops, but Spyhouse was one of the couple's "firsts" on their long list of favorites. There are multiple locations in the area, so find the closest shop to grab a lavender Spy Girl and take in the hip ambiance.
Visit the Walker Art Center's sculpture garden to see the iconic spoon and cherry. The museum is free admission on Thursdays - thanks to the company Steph works for, Target Corp., for supporting the arts! Fun Fact: on the couple's first date (and after a few drinks) they took a stroll around the park and may or may not have climbed one of the sculptures. Every year they attend the annual music festival, Rock the Garden, put on by their favorite radio station, The Current. Nothing beats laying on the lawn and basking in the sun while listening to some sweet tunes. Last year's headliner was Father John Misty, the year before that was Bon Iver and this past June was The National. Keep ‘em coming.
Noah and Steph's celebratory spot in Minneapolis! The place to get wood fired pizzas, unique dishes and craft cocktails. Reservations are needed far in advance, but there is also a section for first come, first serve seating. Make sure you check out the speakeasy back bar, and swing next door to Dangerous Man brewery for a peanut butter porter.
