AUGUST 23, 2014 You know that saying, "you'll meet someone when you least expect it?" It's true. This day is what the couple describes as a once-in-a-lifetime series of events. Separately, Noah and Steph made their way to a free music festival featuring one of their favorite bands, Portugal. The Man, in Loring Park, Minneapolis. As usual Steph arrived early with her friend to score a spot in front row. Whereas Noah and his group, showed up mid-set and mingled with the back of the crowd. They were both doing what they loved at the same place at the same time, but didn't meet quite yet. After the music festival, they both made their way to the Cedar Cultural Center for another show - that's right, two concerts in one day. Noah showed up to support his friend in the Brazilian band who just so happened to be playing in Minneapolis for one night, and Steph tagged along with her friend who got her free tickets to the show. Noah and Steph met for the first time in the front lobby, danced to some sweet beats, Noah introduced Steph to Fresh Squeezed IPA at The Republic bar, and they both left without exchanging numbers. 2014 - 2018 The story continues a week later when Steph attended a friend's concert at Amsterdam bar in Saint Paul. Noah knew she would be there, and made a surprise appearance. They picked up right where they left off and numbers were exchanged (finally!). There is still debate as to who asked who out first, but the couple owes everything to the two friends who introduced them - you know who you are. Let's fast forward the next couple years. Noah and Steph go on their first date at Ling and Louie's. They start dating casually. Several months go by and Steph accepts a job in San Francisco. Couple gets serious (great timing, right?). A year full of flights back and forth. Steph decides to move back to Minnesota to be closer to family, friends and Noah. The couple moves into their first apartment together in Uptown. The following year they move a few blocks down to Loring Park. They adopt a puppy, and name her Indie after their love of music. Noah takes Steph on a memorable trip to their favorite place in Minnesota.

MAY 6, 2018 One of the couple's favorite places to go in Minnesota is what the locals call "Up North." For the past couple years, they have enjoyed going to the North Shore to camp, hike, make s'mores by the bonfire and hunt for agates. It wasn't out of the ordinary when Noah planned an impromptu trip to Grand Marais with their puppy, Indie. They spent the night at their go-to hotel overlooking Lake Superior, where you can hear the waves crashing throughout the night. The next day the couple woke up early to a cool, Sunday morning with clear skies and hiked the Artist Point Trail. Little did Steph know, that when they reached the point, Noah was going to get down on one knee and ask the ultimate question.
