Things To Do

The Wedding Website of KIMBERLY STOLZ and NICHOLAS PIRONE IV
Not only is Washington D.C. a place where we have experienced many amazing memories, but it is full of things to do! This is why we thought it would be perfect for our wedding weekend. See below for some recommendations to enjoy while in town. Be sure to check ahead of time, but most museums are completely free. You may just need to reserve a ticket in advance. If you're interested in bar or restaurant recommendations, we have compiled some of our favorites. Just scroll passed all the places to visit. Washington D.C., however, is packed full of great places to eat and drink so it's difficult to go wrong.

National Mall

Washington, DC

Check out the National Mall and see some of the country's most famous monuments. Nick and Kim's favorite way to see all the monuments in ease is by renting some scooters! They are all over the city and make getting to places super easy. You can also rent bikes if you are unsure about scooter travel.

United States Capitol

Washington, DC 20004

Want to check out our nation's capitol building? You can book a tour online or fun fact - you can contact your local U.S. District Representative's office and book one through them. Kim once upon a time used to give these tours during her internship on the Hill.

Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History

10th St. & Constitution Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20560

International Spy Museum

700 L'Enfant Plaza Southwest, Washington, DC 20024

This a fun and unique museum, but it does require you to purchase tickets.

Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum

600 Independence Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20560

National Gallery of Art

Constitution Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20565

Smithsonian American Art Museum

8th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20004

United States Botanic Garden

100 Maryland Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20001

Library of Congress

101 Independence Avenue Southeast, Washington, DC 20540

Ford's Theatre

511 10th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20004

Ford's Theatre was where President Abraham Lincoln was watching a play when he was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. You do have to purchase a ticket to go inside, but the ticket comes with access to the Petersen House across the street where they took Lincoln after being shot. They have since turned this into a museum.

The Wharf DC

760 Maine Avenue Southwest, Washington, DC 20024

Take a trip over to the Wharf! This waterfront area has blown up in recent years and offers many great restaurants, bars and shops. There's often live music or activities for kids along the Potomac River. It is also home to a Bar Taco, a restaurant where Nick and Kim would eat about once a week when Kim still lived in Denver. Margaritas are top notch!

Union Market

1309 5th Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20002

Union Market is the new spot to go for locals in D.C.. It is on the outskirts of central downtown, but it offers a wide variety of restaurants, bars and shops. Also, yes, this is where we will have our wedding reception.

Old Ebbitt Grill

675 15th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20005

This restaurant is a great place for either a meal or drink. It is Washington's oldest saloon, founded in 1856. It can be very busy so if you plan to have more than a drink we would recommend trying to get a reservation.

Le Diplomate

1601 14th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20009

You know we love France! Le Diplomate is not only a D.C. staple, but it is a great place for authentic French food. If it's just two of you, you can probably grab a place at the bar, but if you want to go with a group we highly recommend a reservation.

Call Your Mother Deli - West End

1143 New Hampshire Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20037

This is our morning bagel spot when visiting D.C.! There are several locations in the area so look up which one is closet to where you are staying.

VUE Rooftop

515 15th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20004

Located on the roof of Hotel Washington is the VUE. We went here on our very first trip to D.C. together and now go often to relive the memory. It provides a great view of the National Mall and you can look down at the White House.

Round Robin Bar

1401 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest, Washington, DC 20004

Small, but famous cocktail bar that is nicknamed the “Oval Office of Bars” having been a meeting place for US presidents, politicians, authors, and celebrities since it was established in 1847.

barmini by José Andrés

501 9th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20004

Calling all artisan cocktail lovers! This spot is a must if you appreciate a good and unique cocktail. Forewarning, you will pay top notch for these babies and you should probably get a reservation due its popularity.

Tom's Watch Bar

1250 Half Street Southeast, Washington, DC 20003

Looking for a place to watch a game? Tom's Watch Bar near the Navy Yard has endless TVs with every sporting event you could imagine.
