Check out the National Mall and see some of the country's most famous monuments. Nick and Kim's favorite way to see all the monuments in ease is by renting some scooters! They are all over the city and make getting to places super easy. You can also rent bikes if you are unsure about scooter travel.
Want to check out our nation's capitol building? You can book a tour online or fun fact - you can contact your local U.S. District Representative's office and book one through them. Kim once upon a time used to give these tours during her internship on the Hill.
This a fun and unique museum, but it does require you to purchase tickets.
Ford's Theatre was where President Abraham Lincoln was watching a play when he was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. You do have to purchase a ticket to go inside, but the ticket comes with access to the Petersen House across the street where they took Lincoln after being shot. They have since turned this into a museum.
Take a trip over to the Wharf! This waterfront area has blown up in recent years and offers many great restaurants, bars and shops. There's often live music or activities for kids along the Potomac River. It is also home to a Bar Taco, a restaurant where Nick and Kim would eat about once a week when Kim still lived in Denver. Margaritas are top notch!
Union Market is the new spot to go for locals in D.C.. It is on the outskirts of central downtown, but it offers a wide variety of restaurants, bars and shops. Also, yes, this is where we will have our wedding reception.
This restaurant is a great place for either a meal or drink. It is Washington's oldest saloon, founded in 1856. It can be very busy so if you plan to have more than a drink we would recommend trying to get a reservation.
You know we love France! Le Diplomate is not only a D.C. staple, but it is a great place for authentic French food. If it's just two of you, you can probably grab a place at the bar, but if you want to go with a group we highly recommend a reservation.
This is our morning bagel spot when visiting D.C.! There are several locations in the area so look up which one is closet to where you are staying.
Located on the roof of Hotel Washington is the VUE. We went here on our very first trip to D.C. together and now go often to relive the memory. It provides a great view of the National Mall and you can look down at the White House.

Calling all artisan cocktail lovers! This spot is a must if you appreciate a good and unique cocktail. Forewarning, you will pay top notch for these babies and you should probably get a reservation due its popularity.
