We met the modern way… a dating website. He was messaging me, and things were going well… until he started talking about canned soup. By that point, I had to delete the app and retire from online dating forever. Right before I did, he sent me his phone number and said if I was interested I should shoot him a text. So I saved his number, and deleted the app. Our first date was at a vegan restaurant (I was vegan at the time), and I found myself absolutely charmed by his nervous energy. He pointed at the menu asking, “what kind of vegan food is this?” Laughing, I replied “I think that’s a photo of some rocks.”After, we went to a movie, and then sat talking in the car for over 2 hours. We have barely apart since that day. What started with canned soup, and rocks for food, turned into this beautiful life we’ve built together.
