Abby Cramer

Maid of Honor

When Maggie was a junior at Shawnee Mission East, she met Abby during the first week of her freshman year. Abby was auditioning for the musical revue that Maggie was student directing. Maggie put her ear close to the door and she was mesmerized by Abby’s voice and they’ve been friends ever since. Fun Fact: Twelve years ago, Maggie was there when Abby adopted her Golden Retriever puppy, Bea and Abby was there when Maggie adopted Toby when he was just a kitten. They are each other's self-proclaimed pet Godmoms.

Kevin Lundstrom

Best Man

Drew and Kevin went to middle school together and they both were in Orchestra and both played the violin. Kevin was a self-proclaimed “violin dork” and took it very seriously, while Drew and his friend Joe were goofing off in the back. Kevin thought it seemed like the two of them were having way more fun. So Kevin stopped stressing and trying as hard which landed him in the back with Drew and Joe. Kevin was right–it was 100x more fun joking and playing around with the two of them. Drew and Kevin stayed friends throughout high school and college (they were in the same fraternity together). Kevin first met Maggie when she invited him to Drew’s 22nd birthday on Facebook, and the rest is history. Fun Fact: Drew and Kevin enjoy gaming and golfing together. Last summer Drew met up with Kevin in St. Louis to golf, during that game Drew made a hole in one! Afterwards Kevin used his woodworking skills and made Drew a display case for the lucky golf ball.

Vanessa Daves-Poarch

Bridesmaid

Vanessa moved to Kansas City in the eighth grade. Vanessa joined the school musical after auditions when rehearsal was in full swing. There was a Saturday rehearsal where students and a few parent volunteers were helping. During rehearsal there was an older gentleman who yelled at the obnoxious middle schoolers to be quiet while other actors were rehearsing on stage. Vanessa, not knowing many people, turned to Maggie and said “Wow that guys seems mean.” Maggie embarrassingly replied, “Yeah, that’s my dad.” Later on in high school, Maggie and Vanessa became best friends and still love laughing about the start of their friendship all thanks to Kip. Fun Fact: Vanessa is 5’ and Maggie is 5’11”. One time at Panera a little boy looked at the two of them and asked Maggie, “Are you her mom?”

Reid Wetherington

Groomsman

Reid is four years younger than Drew and the third Wetherington sibling. Growing up gaming was (and still is) a big part of every Wetherington’s childhood. Drew played games endlessly on the desktop. Reid remembers sitting on the desk watching Drew play games like Tibia and PlanetSide while listening to early 2000s jams. Reid would sit there and ask his big brother questions about what was going on in the game, trying not to annoy him. Drew can confirm that it was not annoying, it was very sweet. Fun Fact: Reid, like his two older siblings, also went to Mizzou. Maggie and Drew always enjoyed stopping in Columbia on their way to or from Kansas City. Maggie has and always will be a Kansas Jayhawk basketball fan (Rock Chalk!). In 2022 when KU and MU played against each other they visited Columbia to watch the game with Reid, and it was the first time Maggie and Drew met Veronica, Reid’s now wife. The following year they continued the friendly rivalry when Reid and Trent visited KC to watch the game together.

Kate Thurn

Bridesmaid

Kate, Bridesmaid Maggie and Kate met freshman year at Stephens College, they were both theatre majors and learned they shared the same birthday: September 15, 1994. Maggie at first was jealous she had the same birthday as her, but after getting to know Kate she knew it meant they were destined to be friends. Fun Fact: During their second year of school they were cast in a play where they played lesbians and Kate was Maggie’s first and only stage kiss during Maggie’s brief acting career.

Trent Wetherington

Groomsman

Trent is Drew’s youngest brother, they are 10 years apart, but he is the tallest Wetherington brother. Drew has fond memories of going to their family’s beach house in Rosemary Beach, Florida. The family would load up in the Suburban and embark on the 12 hour journey. Growing up Trent’s favorite movie was Cars and he would watch it on repeat in the car. Still to this day when “Life is a Highway” is on, it immediately reminds the family of those long car rides together. KACHOW! Fun Fact: When Maggie and Drew first moved to St. Louis, Trent and Laurel were still in elementary and middle school. Sometimes Maggie would join Shawn for after school pickup which usually involved a pit stop at the nearby Starbucks. It was fun to hear about their day at school and spend time together. Getting to watch the siblings grow up over the past 10 years has been very special for Maggie as she became a member of the family.

Marie Schaefer

Bridesmaid

Marie has known Drew since middle school. When they went to Lindbergh High School, their friend group would eat lunch together, and to this day the group refers to themselves as “The Lunch Table.” Fast forward eight years later when Marie met Drew’s serious girlfriend (Maggie) at a Lunch Table gathering. Maggie and Marie quickly hit things off and became fast friends. Fun Fact: In 2021, Marie was invited to her German foreign exchange friend from high school’s wedding. Marie asked Maggie if she wanted to go with her. Maggie of course, said yes, however wanted Drew to be there for her first trip abroad. So Maggie was Marie’s plus one and Drew was the third wheel on their German adventure.

Ryan Endacott

Groomsman

Drew met Ryan their first day of freshman year of college when they were both taking computer software classes. During their college years, they participated in Mizzou Hackathons, coding competitions, and even lived together sophomore year of college. Since their time at Mizzou they’ve gone on trips to visit each other and even attended the Dota 2 International. Fun Fact: Ryan was the reason Drew and Maggie happened to be at the same bar that night they met (October 3rd). Ryan, Drew and the boys were celebrating Ryan landing a job at Google! He was also there the night before Halloween/the night before Maggie and Drew started officially dating.

Greer Wetherington

Bridesmaid

Greer is the second oldest Wetherington sibling, just two years younger than Drew. A fond memory of Drew’s was when he and Greer were driving to high school, and while listening to the radio they learned about a radio station contest for tickets to Katy Perry’s “California Dreams” tour. Drew entered the contest, then later won two tickets and took Greer to the concert with him! In college when Maggie first saw a picture of Drew, Greer and Reid together she thought they could be long lost Weasleys from Harry Potter. Fun Fact: Maggie and Drew adopted Timmy, their then kitten, during the pandemic. Timmy was one of four in the litter. Maggie, Drew, Shawn, Greer, and Laurel drove two hours from St. Louis picked up Timmy and the Wetheringtons decided to adopt the other three: Shawn claimed Jamie, Laurel chose Moxie, and Greer picked Poppy!

Joe Gardner

Groomsman

Joe transferred schools in the fourth grade and that is when he met Drew. They weren’t in the same class but that didn’t stop them from getting to know each other during violin lessons and soccer. Some time after that they became best friends and spent countless hours riding dirt bikes, having sleepovers, and gaming through the night. Twenty years later, Drew is still happy to call Joe his childhood best friend. Fun Fact: When Maggie and Drew were leaving St. Louis to move to Kansas City, Joe came over that day to help them load up the remaining boxes into the moving van.
