How We Met

Everything everywhere all at once

Marissa, Gigi's new counseling school friend, invited her to a pool to meet her two gen z friends- Luke & Isaac! The next day, getting ice cream after class, the girls laughed picturing themselves (self-proclaimed old millennials) dating these young bucks! Now they're both engaged to them! Marissa is marrying them as an homage to the beginning. For Luke & Gigi, it was a bit of a slow burn. They formed a big group of friends & were friends for about a month (Luke was texting her trying to impress her this whole time!), until finally Gigi asked him to go see “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” They cried & held hands the whole movie. Luke opened the car door for Gigi, so she knew it was a date. He has opened it for her ever since. That night they laughed and laughed, deciding to fit into an XXL blue suit, Luke once bought as a joke. That's when they took their very first picture together in it. You can view this silly pic below in their in their couple collage! Every since then- they've continued laughing together and taken many, many pictures of each other on Luke's film camera. Cracking each other up & documenting their love have become the foundation of their relationship.

Our Engagement

Luke proposed the night before a Thousand-Year Storm

Luke proposed to Gigi in their backyard right before Hurricane Helene in Asheville. Luke surprised Gigi by flying in their dearest family & friends. They all danced barefoot in the rain for hours. But the rain never stopped. Gigi, Luke, their best friend Taylor + Gigi's brother David woke up to their yard & decorations destroyed. Luke & Gigi sat bewildered until Gigi proposed to him in the broken down trees, slow dancing again in the aftermath, knowing their love could make it through anything. Some neighbors happened to stop by to check on them, and Luke and Gigi shared their joyous picture from the engagement the night before. The neighbors asked if they wanted to retake it. Now, they greatly treasure the comparison from the night of the engagement and day after, when they continued to celebrate each other, even and especially in hard times. It represents the testament of their love & their ability to find levity through it all, together.
