The Charterhouse Museum is in an easily accessible central London location. It is a short walk from Farringdon and Barbican stations, with great connections to several tube lines. Alternatively, you can arrive by taxi, on foot, by bike or on a bus! Public car parking is available close to the venue.

Travel Note

Train info

The nearest stations to The Charterhouse Museum are Farringdon and Barbican. Farringdon tube station is on the Elizabeth, Metropolitan, Circle and Hammersmith and City lines, and has a direct National Rail connection to Gatwick Airport. Barbican tube station is on the Metropolitan, Circle and Hammersmith and City lines. If you are taking the Elizabeth Line to Farringdon, use the 'Barbican Exit', which is only a two minute walk from the the venue. NOTE: there might be a train strike on 1 April. If it happens, it will affect mainline trains, not the tube/underground, which is scheduled to run as normal. If you plan to travel to London on a mainline train, we recommend considering alterative options or double-checking your specific route before you travel.

Travel Note

Bus info

The buses that'll drop you off closest to The Charterhouse are the number 17, which stops on Charterhouse Street, or the numbers 4, 56 and 153, which stop at Barbican station. It is a short walk to the venue from any of these bus stops.

Hotel info

London is a huge city with literally thousands of hotels. Prices are generally high, and the minimum you can expect to pay for a night at a stylish hotel in a good location is 150 GBP per night - and that's probably without breakfast included. Budget options are available, however. We would recommend finding these through reputable international chains (such as IHG, Marriot, Hilton, Premier Inn, etc.) to ensure a minimum level of service and quality. If you are looking for something more distinctively 'London', here is a curated list of suggestions in various parts of the city: - Malmaison London, Clerkenwell - https://www.malmaison.com/locations/london/ - Vintry & Mercer, The City of London - https://www.vintryandmercer.com/ - Treehouse Hotel, Marylebone - https://www.treehousehotels.com/london - Kimpton Fitzroy, Bloomsbury - https://www.kimptonfitzroylondon.com/ - The Rose and Crown Guesthouse, Hackney - https://www.roseandcrownn16.co.uk/ - Bingham Riverhouse, Richmond - https://www.binghamriverhouse.com/ -Good Hotel, Docklands - https://goodhotel.co/london [NOTE: Malmaison London is directly next to the venue] Areas close (or relatively close) to the venue include Clerkenwell, Shoreditch, Bloomsbury and the City of London. Please feel free to ask us directly for further advice and suggestions before booking!
