What should I wear?

We encourage a mix of Indian formal wear and American cocktail wear for any event at our wedding. Deanna and Niral will be wearing both styles throughout the day. For those not used to wearing Indian clothing, we encourage you to try it out! For those more comfortable in western wedding attire, we know you'll look great! Please note that there will be limited time for attire changes on Saturday. For Chaniya Cholis and Sherwanis, we recommend buying in person. For Chanya Cholis, you can also buy online, our recommendation is to buy unstitched and have it tailored for best results. Kurtas and Kurtis generally have more flexibility in fit.

Chaniya Choli (Lehenga Choli)

Chaniya Cholis consist of a skirt and a top with either a scarf (dupatta) or some type of jacket. You can wear any color you want, but red tends to be associated with the bride.

Kurti

Either Ceremony + Reception

Kurti consists of a long tunic that has side slits up to about the waist, usually worn with a dupatta (scarf). Pants can be either tight-fitting or loose-fitting.

Saree

Either Ceremony + Reception

Sarees consist of a short top and one long piece of fabric that is usually pressed and then intricately folded and pinned. We don't particularly recommend this for first-time Saree wearers and even experienced folks need assistance getting ready for this outfit.
