Flight
We recommend flying into the Milan, Malpensa Airport. It will have the most availability in terms of price ranges and airlines that service this airport. Plus, it is the closest major airport to Verona that has a train station directly in Terminal 1. Verona is 2.5 hours away by car, around 2 hours by train. Venice is closer, but doesn't have a train station in the airport. The drive is around 1.5 hours.
Train
The train is an affordable and efficient way to travel around Italy! Verona is easily accessible by train from many major airports in Italy. From Rome, high-speed trains take just over 3 hours; from Milan or Venice, you’ll be there in under 90-120 minutes. The train station is Verona Porta Nuova, about a 20-minute walk or short bus ride/taxi to the historic city center. Guests can download the trenitalia app, if they wish to purchase tickets from their phone, but there is also ticket machines in the major airports.
Travel Note
There are white taxis located outside the airport, they will offer charge by the meter, averaging €350-€450 and come in a variety of sizes. No reservation needed. There is also UBER in Milan. https://daytrip.com/en/transfers/malpensa-airport-it/verona-it - A more economical private car option to pre-book. https://www.transfeero.com/ - Another option for guests to arrange for private cars from Malpensa to their stay in Verona.
Travel Note
UBER or LYFT are not currently available in Verona, but the taxi service runs 24/7 and can be booked in advance: https://radiotaxiverona.it/en/. We recommend to save this number in your phone ;)
