Yes, the ceremony and reception are both located at Middleton Place.
Please arrive at 5:00 pm as this should give you ample time to park and get seated before the procession begins promptly at 5:30 pm. Please see info on shuttles provided from downtown Charleston to the venue if you would prefer not to drive to the venue.
Yes! There is a parking lot at Middleton Place with free parking. Guests will be greeted by a gate attendant as they enter the main gate and will be instructed to park along the center road of the Greensward near the Pavilion. Cars must drive under 10mph. Middleton Place never wants anyone to drive under the influence. We encourage all guests to move their cars off the greensward at night should they decide not to drive. Vehicles left on Greensward may be towed after 9am the following day at owner’s expense.
Yes! We have arranged for shuttles for our guests staying in downtown Charleston to get to the venue, as well as to transport them back downtown after the reception has ended. Transportation will be provided to and from the wedding for those staying at the Residence Inn Riverview on Ripley Point Drive and Middleton Inn. If you are not staying at one of these locations, you may still utilize transportation. You will just need to go to the Residence Inn to get on the shuttles. The Shuttles will depart the Residence Inn at 4:15pm. - PLEASE be at the Residence Inn location by 4:10pm to make sure there is no delay. The shuttles will depart Middleton Inn at 4:45pm Please be at your pick up spot 5 minutes before departure. The shuttles will transport guests to The Residence Inn and Middleton Inn after the wedding.
We have a “travel” tab on our website that suggests our two hotel room blocks at discounted rates. We have a wedding hotel block at Middleton Inn, which is located adjacent to Middleton Place. (please check out the travel tab for more details!) The other hotel block reserved for our wedding is the Residence Inn Charleston Downtown Riverview. We will have transportation to and from this location. (See the travel tab, to book with the discounted room block!) The bride and groom will be staying at Middleton Inn.
Yes, children are allowed to attend both our ceremony and reception! We will have coloring books available to keep them entertained!
We recommend dressing in your “Sunday Best”, the theme is Garden Party Semi-Formal. Embrace the pastel colors with lighter/brighter hues and florals! Light weight, breathable attire is recommended. Our wedding theme is “Garden Party”, so women can choose short or long dresses, with florals or color! Men can wear lightweight linen, or suits.
