Alex had just graduated from San Jose State University and moved back to the city to figure out his next move. I had just spent the summer back home in Simi Valley unsure if I wanted to continue living in San Francisco after being so homesick the first year of living there. With some encouragement and help from my parents, I decided to give it another shot. We first met as coworkers at the oh-so glamorous Sunglass Hut in The Stonestown Mall. We spent hours being goofy, laughing and keeping each other entertained when it was slow in the store. It started off as a fun and playful friendship, but we fell for each other quickly and have been inseparable ever since.
On a weekend trip after Thanksgiving, Alex had mentioned wanting to go check out Cathedral Park because it was a beautiful spot in the city. We planned to meet up with our friends there before dinner and he secretly had them go ahead of us to scope it out. Special shout out to David, Brendon & Christina because I was running late getting ready (naturally) so the sun had already set by the time we showed up and they were freezing cold (sorry guys!!). Despite it being dark out, it was still absolutely beautiful and Alex had said he wanted a picture of the two of us. I turned to smile at the camera and the next thing I knew he was down on one knee and asking me to marry him. I was so surprised but could not have been more excited and we had the best time celebrating our engagement all weekend.
We had taken many road trips up through the PNW over the years so when we got engaged and it came to deciding on a location for our big day, it really was a no brainer that we wanted to get married in Oregon. Brasada Ranch literally took our breath away the first time we pulled up to the venue and it is just a short drive from Bend which is easily one of our favorite places to visit. The list of things to do and places to go is extensive so we'll be sure to let you in on all of our favorite spots incase you have some time to explore while in town. After everything we've all been through these last few years, we are thrilled to spend a weekend celebrating together with all of our favorite people in one place.
