Nikki's POV: In January of 2023, I went in for what I know know would be a truly life changing job interview. In all honesty I don't remember too much from the interview itself other than the moment when the head of the IT department (my future husband) came into the office since he shared it with the business manager. I remember the moment he walked in I told myself (then a few others after the fact) that I knew one reason I wanted to work there. Once I was hired one of my side quest became figuring out if said head of IT was in a relationship. Sadly at the time he was and my attraction to him was immediately discarded. That is until I found out that he was in a very unhealthy relationship and that we had similar morals and interest. Within a month of discovering this, he asked if I would be interested in buying the now extra ticket he had to a music festival... in Ohio. I asked why he had an extra ticket and discovered that they had broken up. I told him I'd need a few days to decide since it was so far away and my normal budget didn't account for music festivals. Mostly I needed a few days to decide what to do given agreeing to go would mean being in a car with a guy I was very attracted to for 10 hours and sharing an airbnb with him and his 2 friends I had never met before. Long story short I agreed which lead us to texting back and forth. about 2 weeks later I decided to invite him to the ren festival in Tennessee as kind of a trial run to see what a longer car ride with him would be like. This ren fair excursion is now referred to as our first date and went exceptionally well. On June 2nd of 2023 I went over to his house for dinner and a movie night and we (after several awkward attempts you would read about in a middle school romance) confessed that we were both interested in pursuing a relationship with each other and started dating. My exact words to my mother the next day were, "Mom... I have a boyfriend?" She asked why I had phrased it as a question and I told her it was because I couldn't believe it. Within 2 weeks I told my basically brother Trey that I was going to marry this man one day and now I am. Logan's POV Our story begins at the end of a relationship. I had just gotten out of an unfortunate one and found myself with an extra ticket to a music festival over eight hours away. Not wanting to waste the ticket, I was desperate to find someone willing to buy it at a substantially discounted price. It was around this time that I came across Nikki (who was working reception at the time) and asked if she might be interested in purchasing the ticket and sharing the accommodations in Ohio. Not expecting a yes due to the unusual circumstances, I was pleasantly surprised when she took me up on the offer. Not wanting to risk spending a total of sixteen hours in the car with someone we might not get along with, Nikki suggested a shorter “feeler” trip to the Tennessee Renaissance Fair so we could gauge each other first. Needless to say, we got along really well, and I genuinely enjoyed her company. Fast forward a week or two, and I knew I wanted to ask her out. One poorly executed street taco and an awkward movie later, we laid our cards on the table and shared our feelings. That night, on June 2nd, 2023, we set off on the journey of a lifetime—and there is no one else on the planet I would rather take that journey with than Nikki.
