Let's Get Married!

I (Nikki) was in a musical with my maid of honor, McKenna at Auburn University. McKenna had just started dating a guy in the music department, so she invited him to come see the show. They were scheming a bit and decided to invite Landon, another guy in the music department, as well with the hopes that he and I would hit it off. After the show, we were introduced and forced into some admittedly awkward small talk in the theatre lobby. When everyone walked out, the other couple instructed Landon to walk me to my car. Just when we had reached the car, Landon suddenly realized he had left his keys in the music building. I thought this might be a ploy, but I felt safe with him and offered to give him a ride back to the music building. We continued to talk and found that we went to the same church- Auburn Community Church. His brilliant line as he got out of the car was "Hey, maybe we could sit together at church on Sunday?" and I mean... how could I not say yes? (:

We are long distance for most of the year, so one weekend, Landon came to visit in Huntsville. He said we would meet at a restaurant downtown, but was running late because of traffic on the interstate. When I got to the restaurant, instead of Landon I found my friend (and future MOH) with a rose and a date card- yes, like from The Bachelor. Over the next hour or so, I went to several locations around Huntsville that mean something to Landon and I- including Big Spring Park, Dunkin, and Waffle House- meeting my friends (and future bridesmaids) at each stop. Eventually, I rode back to my family's house and in the backyard, Landon had made a picture wall and a "rose ceremony" setup. He asked me to accept his final rose and I said "YES!" Still my favorite episode of The Bachelor to date (:
