Transportation

The Wedding Website of Nicolette Jew and Jake Belanio
From flights to shuttles to getting around town—here’s everything you need to know about getting to and around Antigua.

Flight

Recommended Flights

To make your trip as easy and enjoyable as possible, we recommend arriving in Guatemala City (La Aurora International Airport) early in the day either on a red-eye, in the morning, or around lunchtime. Why? Late afternoon / evening traffic out of Guatemala City can be intense as everyone leaves the city to return home, and hitting rush hour may add hours to your trip and unnecessary stress. Arriving earlier in the day will make the drive to Antigua much more scenic, relaxed, and enjoyable. Similarly, it is best to leave Antigua for Guatemala City in the afternoon / evening to avoid rush hour traffic into the city. If you're coming from Los Angeles or Nashville, we have made the following document with recommended flights to Guatemala City. Please click the link below!

Travel Note

Transportation from the Airport

We know that transportation can be tricky, which is why we will be coordinating shared shuttles to help our group safely get to and from La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City and Antigua. If none of the shuttle times work for you, please contact us, and we can help you arrange alternative transportation at your own expense. Once you arrive at La Aurora International Airport, exit the airport through the door to your furthest right after passing through customs. Your driver will be waiting for you with a sign that has your name on it, close to where the taxis are parked. If you're having any issue, please WhatsApp call our planner, Darya, at +502 5510 0418. Once you have booked your flights, please fill out the link below with all your information so we can coordinate the shared shuttle times with our drivers.

Transportation within Antigua

Antigua is super walkable—most places in town are within a 20-minute stroll! If you'd rather catch a ride, Ubers are easy to find, and tuk-tuks are a fun (and affordable) local option. Just keep in mind that tuk-tuks usually only take cash. Additionally, we've found that you can often negotiate the fare with the tuk-tuk drivers before your ride.
