The Wedding Website of Nicolette Jew and Jake Belanio
Here's what to expect for our wedding celebrations! It's most important to us that our guests can join us for the welcome party and the wedding. However, if you're able to come to Antigua early or stay for a few days after, we've also arranged the following fun activities before and after the wedding. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

Optional Activity: ATV Tour

9:00 am - 2:30 pm

Join us for an optional 6-hour ATV tour through the villages surrounding Antigua, including a ride up to the base of Volcán de Agua in the indigenous town of Santa María de Jesús at over 2,070 meters above sea level. We’ll explore the town’s local market and take in the scenery before heading back toward Antigua. Along the way, we’ll stop in San Juan del Obispo to visit Chocolatería Antigua, where you’ll enjoy a brief demonstration of traditional chocolate making, followed by a tasting at a neighboring wine shop featuring locally made fruit wines such as níspero, manzanilla, mango, and grape. We’ll also visit the plaza of San Juan for sweeping views of the valley. The tour continues to San Pedro de las Huertas, where we’ll learn about jade craftsmanship at a local jade factory. The adventure concludes with a stop at a local restaurant to enjoy authentic Guatemalan food and refreshing drinks.

Optional Activity: Cooking Class

9:30 am - 1:00 pm

Get a taste of local culture—literally! Join us for a hands-on cooking class where we’ll learn to make traditional Guatemalan dishes from scratch. The experience begins with a guided tour of the local market to pick out fresh ingredients, followed by cooking and (of course) eating together. It’s the perfect midday activity for food lovers looking to bring a little Antigua flavor home.

Optional Activity: Acatenango Volcano

1:00 pm

We want to see if there are any adventurous guests who would like to join us in hiking Acatenango Volcano for an unforgettable view of the active Fuego Volcano erupting in the distance. This overnight experience offers a once-in-a-lifetime look at lava bursts under the stars and a breathtaking sunrise from above the clouds. You’ll have the option to hike (~$20) or ride partway in a 4x4 vehicle (~$100) to make the trek more manageable. The hike takes 8 hours and is considered to be difficult, but the views of Fuego Volcano (which erupts every 15 minutes) at night are supposed to be incredible. We will be staying overnight at the top of the volcano in a line of private cabins that we have rented out (2 people per cabin). More information will be provided to those who sign up. All experience levels welcome—just bring your sense of adventure!
