Getting around/Taxis/Airport Transfers

There are many different ways to get around in Cabarete/sosua/Puerto plata and avoid renting a car #1 option: Private taxis. We recommend Edward Tours and Transfers (+1 849 889 4513) for airport transfers and getting around. Contact them through a quick and easy WhatsApp message. Tell them where you are and where you're going at any time of the day. You can book ahead as well. Feeling adventurous? Gregoria Luperón International Airport (POP) is a small, easy-to-navigate International airport serving the Dominican Republic's north coast including Cabarete, Sosúa, and Puerto Plata. Located approximately 12 miles (18-20km) from Cabarete and about 15-25 mins by car. We strongly recommend this option! El Aeropuerto Internacional Gregorio Luperón (POP) es un aeropuerto internacional pequeño y fácil de recorrer que sirve a la costa norte de la República Dominicana, incluyendo Cabarete, Sosúa y Puerto Plata. Está ubicado aproximadamente a 12 millas (18–20 km) de Cabarete y a unos 15–25 minutos en carro. ¡Recomendamos ampliamente esta opción!

Cibao International Airport (STI), located in Santiago, is a larger and well-connected airport that often offers more international flight options. Located Approximately 40-47 miles (65-75km) from Cabarete and about 1 hour 15mins to 2 hours by car. El Aeropuerto Internacional del Cibao (STI), ubicado en Santiago, es un aeropuerto más grande y bien conectado que a menudo ofrece más opciones de vuelos internacionales. Está ubicado aproximadamente a 40–47 millas (65–75 km) de Cabarete y a unos 1 hora y 15 minutos a 2 horas en carro.

All travelers must complete this free form, which combines immigration, customs, and health declaration, generating a QR code required for entry and exit of the Dominican Republic. We recommend completing this at least 1 week before travel.
