Nikki and Sika first met through their training at Purple Dragon, crossing paths at the dojo as far back as 2010. However, it wasn’t until 2017 that their friendship truly took off, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. From deep conversations to uncontrollable laughter, they always have plenty to talk about. One of their favorite traditions is their annual summer camping trips, where they swap stories by the fire, take in the beauty of nature, and add new adventures to their ever-growing list of memories.

Best Man
Crawford and Aries share the same birthday and became friends back in grade 8 when a random seating plan put them next to each other in business class. What started as casual conversations turned into a years-long friendship built around sports, endless debates, and a shared love of placing some pretty wild bets. Some were questionable, a few were downright ridiculous—but they hit enough of them to keep things interesting. Aries also made regular trips to visit Crawford at UVic—most memorably during the 2021 heatwave, which turned into a weekend no one involved will forget. Crawford’s been one of the most solid and consistent people in Aries’ life, and there was never a doubt he’d be standing beside him as best man.
Tina Marr
Bridesmaid
Nikki and Tina have been friends since Grade 8, but it was during their Grade 11 & 12 Marketing classes that they truly bonded. What started as a class friendship has evolved into a tight-knit group that still hangs out on weekends. From summer camping trips and road trips to Seattle & Oregon, to quiet arts and crafts nights and their annual Christmas parties, they treasure these moments together. A standout memory from their time as roommates (2017-2020) was Tina’s request for a pirate-themed birthday bar crawl. The whole crew dressed as pirates and even carried a life-size cardboard boat with them to the bars!
Kenya Gerald
Groomsman
Kenya moved from Toronto to Vancouver in grade 9, and Aries was one of his first friends in a new city. Over time, he became part of a close crew that spent countless weekends watching sports, going to movies, and getting into the kind of conversations that somehow lasted all night. Kenya was always jealous of Aries’ height and athletic ability, but the friendship survived anyway. He’s been a loyal and steady presence throughout most of Aries’ life, and having him in the wedding party was an easy choice.
Holly Maciel
Bridesmaid
Nikki and Holly have known each other their entire lives—well, Nikki's entire life, since Holly is just four days older than her. Their dads are best friends, and that friendship has been passed down to the next generation. Although they’ve never been in the same school or neighborhood, Nikki and Holly always make time to reconnect. One of their favorite memories is when Nikki was a bridesmaid at Holly’s wedding in 2021. It was such a special day, and Nikki was honored to witness Holly marry her best friend.
Arian Tabrizi

Aries and Arian first met playing football at age 10, lining up beside each other—Aries at outside linebacker and Arian at defensive end. They reconnected in high school and quickly became close again, sharing a love of sports, inside jokes, and years of late-night conversations with the rest of the crew. The two also competed together in beach volleyball, going head-to-head with some of the top teams in the country. Arian’s uncanny ability to mimic just about any accent has led to more laughs than Aries can count, and his spot in the wedding party reflects the deep and easy friendship they’ve built over the years.
