For our first international trip together, we decided to explore the wonderful country of Peru. Although Nikki had her suspicions about Anthony's plans, his calm, cool and collected demeanor eventually had Nikki convinced a proposal wasn't going to happen during the trip. We first explored Lima for a few days, then flew to Cusco and after a quick bout of food poisoning, the last leg of our trip was to embark on a 2-day hike along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The first full day of hiking through the Andes was incredible; exploring remnants of an ancient civilization as we climbed higher in elevation. At our campsite we had a delicious fresh cooked Peruvian meal while socializing with our small tour group, then made our way back to our tent to prepare for our second day of hiking. In this private, intimate moment Anthony proposed to Nikki, catching her completely off guard. She of course said, yes! It was such a special moment for just the two of us to enjoy. The next day, we celebrated our engagement by touring the city of Machu Picchu and hiking to the summit of the iconic Huayna Picchu! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
