How we met...through our lovely friends Gavin & Alex Milow on the Fourth of July 2019. Alec, wearing jorts and rocking a mustache that summer, made a memorable impression on Hannah -- and not just because of his 'hillbilly chic' swimming attire. As he stayed late to help clean up, and was not only polite but also funny, Hannah looked past the cutoffs and graciously bestowed her number to him at the end of the night (upon Alec's solicitation). Since then, a lot has happened over the last 5+ years, and we have started to create a beautiful life filled with our favorite things including... All of our amazing friends and family - we can't wait to have our closest loved ones from all phases of life with us on our special day. As two social butterflies, we love bellying up to our local spots, exchanging pleasantries , and connecting with those around us. Music - Some of Hannah's first memories are her dad dancing her around the living room to Ryan Adams or waking up on Saturday mornings to Van Morrison and has enjoyed countless concerts over the years. Alec shares his dad's passion for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and spent his college years sneaking into any and every show at The Majestic. Some of their favorites today include Hippocampus, Maggie Rogers, Yoke Lore and some classics by Whitney Houston and the Talking Heads. Fun fact - Alec sent Hannah the song "Get Up and Dance" a few days after their first date - give it a listen! Food! - Anyone that has visited the Nigh household has left with a full belly and no shortage of compliments to the chef (Laura!). Alec gets his mom's enthusiasm for cooking and trying new foods and recipes. Hannah became a foodie at a young age deeming her favorite foods "crab legs and asparagus" in her kindergarten "About Me" and continues to share her food chronicles via hungry_hungry__hannah (feel free to follow). Can't forget their favorite sports teams! Hannah & Alec have spent many evenings watching their favorite teams compete... Lions, Packers, Badgers, Spartans...with the winner paying for dinner or drinks (of course!) so both parties can go home happy. And they have witnessed some great live sporting events such as the Bucks 2021 NBA Finals, Lions Thanksgiving games (& tailgates - shoutout Uncle Steve), and many Madison game days where the Nigh's first met Hannah and deemed her a good fit. Travel - And finally, one of their passions is exploring places both new and familiar. From their biannual pilgrimage to Duluth (including their first couples trip in 2019, an eventful Covid camping trip in 2020 and where they got engaged in 2023!), to ski trips in the Rockies, and regular visits to family in both Michigan and Wisconsin, they train, bus, drive and fly to wherever they can to spend time with their wonderful family and friends. If you read to this part, that's where you come in! Thanks for making the trip to celebrate our special day. We truly wouldn't be here without you.
