Question

What is the wedding schedule?

Answer

We're still working on finalizing the schedule. Updates will be posted here as soon as we have them! Currently the plan goes like this: 4:30 - Arrival at Villa Gala! There will be a welcome drink to catch up over. 5:00 - The main event! The ceremony. 5:30 - Post ceremony drinks and snacks to celebrate our marriage! 19:00 - Dinner is served! There will be a multiple course feast with drinks. Full details of the menu down below. 21:00 (ish) - Dancing and party! 3:00 - The carriages take the last people standing home.

Question

When should we RSVP by?

Answer

Please let us know whether you'll be coming by April 31st at the latest. This is so we can make necessary arrangements and accommodate those who may require assistance with travel options.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

We are sure that you will show up looking your best! Please dress smartly, but we also want you to be comfortable so ties, hats etc are completely optional. Croatia can still be very hot during the day in mid-September, though nights can be a bit chilly, so bring something warm on top for the evening. Parts of the wedding may involve stepping on gravel or grass, meaning block heels are recommended rather than stilettos.

Question

Can we bring our children?

Answer

Of course! However, for the ceremony, we ask that you choose seating close to the back in case they start to become fidgety. We kindly ask for quiet time during the ceremony to really be in the moment (we promise it won't take long).

Question

Is there anything that parents with children should be aware of?

Answer

There will be a pool on the premises that, due to its unique shape, unfortunately can't be covered. Though it's up some steps and around a corner, so not directly visible from the ceremony area, please keep an eye on your little ones and be aware that the pool exists.

Question

What type of food will be served at the wedding?

Answer

Traditional Croatian food will be served throughout the event so nobody will go hungry! Immediately following the ceremony a variety of finger food and drinks will be served. Dinner will consist of multiple courses, there is no need to select starters or mains as everything will be provided and guests can try it all. Hopefully helping those who suffer from indecision at restaurants! There will of course be vegetarian and vegan options that we will announce soon after RSVPs are in and we have numbers. Other accommodations can also be made for allergies or other dietary requirements. Please let us know about all requirements in the RSVP. Cold starters: Selection of premium cheeses Homemade prosciutto Smoked tuna Tuna pâté Octopus salad Warm starters: Adriatic prawn risotto Traditional Dalmatian beef stew Pašticada with gnocchi Istrian fuži pasta with local mushrooms and tartufata (truffles) Main courses: Janje na ražnju (Croatian roasted lamb) Teletina ispod peke (Beef slow cooked in a fire under a "bell") Roasted potatoes Seasonal greens

Question

Will there be a cash bar?

Answer

No. Drinks will be provided for the duration of the entire evening so there will be no need to buy drinks at the venue.

Question

Is there parking at the wedding venue?

Answer

Yes, there will be parking directly at the wedding venue.

Question

Am I allowed to take photos during the ceremony.

Answer

We will have a photographer taking photos of the ceremony so we would prefer not to have loads of phones in frame. We would therefore ask you to not take photos during the ceremony. We will share the official photos after!

Question

Can we make cash donations to the honeymoon on the wedding day?

Answer

We would greatly prefer to keep things hands-free at the wedding and ask that you please transfer the money electronically, but international transfers can be complicated sometimes. Just in case, there will be a basket for cash donations at the venue.

Question

Can we buy a physical gift instead of donating towards the honeymoon?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. Since we would need to travel back home from Croatia, we can't guarantee that we would have space to bring the gifts back with us, which would be a terrible shame.

Question

Is there a place to get hair/nails done before the wedding?

Answer

In Croatia, there's no shortage of places to get cosmetic treatments, like nail and hair salons. Just be sure to book at least 4-6 weeks in advance to compete with the local clients. While we don't personally know any in Sinj or Split, Google maps will help a lot, and Croatians generally speak English very well. The words in Croatian are: Frizerski salon = hairdresser Salon za nokte = nail salon Kozmetički salon = cosmetic salon

Question

Are card payments common in Croatia?

Answer

They're becoming more and more common, however, given that the wedding will be in a rural area, we recommend that you have cash on hand so that you can pay for taxi services or a coffee in the morning.

Question

Where will wedding updates be posted?

Answer

Please check our home page frequently for announcements.
