This is our first photo together, from the first night we met in person!
Nikki & Ryan met on a video game called MapleStory when they were just 14. For those who aren’t familiar, MapleStory is a 2-dimensional role-playing game. You create a character, pick a role like a thief or pirate, level up, and spend an absurd amount of time (and money) making your cartoon avatar look as cute as possible while playing the game. Along the way, you meet people online, form guilds, complete quests, trade items, and spend time together.
Late-night gaming and chats turned into a romance, and Ryan asked Nikki to be his girlfriend on January 1, 2013. They kept it going with long-distance visits between Florida and New Jersey. Ryan transferred to UCF in 2016, they moved in together in 2018, got engaged in 2024, and now they’re tying the knot in November 2026!
